Tomorrow, the GOP recovery can begin in ernest when GOP voters in New Jersey decide who will take on embattled Gov. Jon Corzine in November. On April 21st, the GOPNation endorsed Chris Christie and as of today, he remains ahead of both Corzine in General Election match-ups, and against Steve Lonegan for the primary.
Not missing a beat, Christie has released a Twitter-specific ad against Lonegan.
We ask all of our NJ readers to get to the polls tomorrow and vote for Christie and in the process help throw Corzine out of office.
The retarded voters of New Jersey will still vote for the RAT come the election.
I’ve just observed NJ politics from afar for a few years, and it seems like the Republican is usually ahead in the polls, but then, the dem ends up winning. Let’s hope whoever the Republican is can actually pull through to the end this time.
I’m voting for Lonegan. So is my wife.
My wife and I are also voting for Lonegan. I met him in person at a rally yesterday in Newton. Steve would mop the floor with Corzine in the debates, Christie is a paper tiger RINO.
There actually is a division in NJ. There is the bastion of corruption like Hudson County controlled by the biggest rats including Sen. Menendez and there are areas where Republicans and Independents are in the majority.
Corzine is not popular with most right now. It will probably continue to election day.
Lonegan’s ad were pathetic. Saw 5 of them. Four had the text cut off by the screen. the last ad I saw said “NEGAN FOR GOVERER” that’s all you could see. Doesn’t that moron Rick Shaftan know about the “NTSC Safe Area” in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro? I think even Windows Movie Maker has it! It has always amazed me how that turd Shaftan can continually shaft conservatives in NJ and rake in maga bucks. Has his candidates ever won anything?
My husband, daughter and I are voting for Lonegan.
Actually, the Dem stongholds are Hudson, Essex, Middlesex, Passaic, Mercer, Camden, Gloucester, and Cumberland Counties. These counties alone hold the lion’s share of the population. Republican counties are Morris, Somerset (barely, went for Obama in 08), Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Ocean, and Cape May. Bergen County (largest in the state) leans Democrat, but has Republican strongholds north of Paramus. The “wild card” counties are Salem, Atlantic, and Burlington counties, although the latter went for Obama by 18% thanks largely to the morons who have moved out of Philly over the past two decades.
How many times do you have to lose at Three Card Monty before you quit playing that game?
So I'm voting for Lonegan because he is, by far, the most conservative candidate. And if he wins, then we'll have to win the majority of the people over with our Conservative IDEAS in November. That's the only longterm solution to combating the Left: argue and expound upon our IDEAS of smaller government, liberty without license, rights tempered by responsibility.
Christy stands for none of that. He's a more-of-the-same Party hack.
Why is everyone supposed to support Christie?
From what I know of Jersey Lonegan is the standout conservative in this race.
Its conservatives vs. RINO’s and let the conservatives be the winners.
The establishment insiders from old Kay Bailey H. in Texas to J.C. Watts in Oklahoma seem to be lining up for next year as well to run for governor. John Kasich is throwing himself back into Ohio politics. I don’t think any of them really excite me.
FWIW I've been called for polls about 10 times and hung up each time. The calls have been relentless. I wouldn't put any credence in any poll as I'm sure lots of folks are hanging up as I am.
Why is GOPNation supporting a RINO?
Well Clemenza you just hammered out the big picture, I merely sketched a few strokes. At least there is some hope for NJ ahead.
Corzine sucks so bad that many people have had enough of him and his girl Carla. And all their baggage.
Don't you find it amusing how the candidates are fighting over who is more conservative? They get elected and they revert to middle of the roaders. Lonegan does have the more conservative track record, so he gets my vote too!
I’m voting for Lonegan in the primary but I’ll vote for Christie against Corzine if Christie wins the primary.
My fear with Corzine is that if he’s really down in the polls, they’ll pull a Torricelli and maybe get Bill Bradley or some other high-profile and well-liked Dem to step in for him to win.
If Christie (or Lonergan) can get at least 50% in Bergen County, they can squeak by. They need high turnout in the GOP districts, but also need to pick up suburban Dem voters in Middlesex, lower Bergen, and the Philly suburbs in Camden/Gloucester/Burlington counties (the latter of which have become more heavily Dem since the 1980s, but have enough swing voters to make a difference).
Don’t think so as Corzine has a big ego, lots of money and is not facing a trial.
There’s no way he’s going to pull out. At least I can’t see it.
