By midafternoon Sunday, authorities had a 50-something man in custody in connection with the murder of Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller, killed while serving as an usher at his church.
However, the motive for the crime we can all surmise, given the vitriolic rhetoric aimed at Tiller these past couple of decades by anti-abortion activists.
And if were right about that, then we know the identities of his accomplices.
They include everyone who has ever called Tillers late-term abortion clinic a murder mill.
Whoever called Tiller Tiller the Killer.
Groups that fomented hate toward a man who, rightly or wrongly, believed he was serving a noble purpose by being one of the few doctors in the country who performed late-term abortions.
Hate. Not heated opposition. Not strong disagreement.
But blind hatred.
The kind of hate that would prompt some maniac to take a gun into a church and shoot a man to death in front of friends and family.
His accomplices know they have blood on their hands, which might explain why they were quick to issue statements expressing disapproval of Tillers murder.
Among them, the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, whose words drip with hypocrisy: We are shocked at this mornings disturbing news that Mr. Tiller was gunned down. Operation Rescue has worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see him brought to justice. We denounce vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning. We pray for Mr. Tillers family that they will find comfort and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
Shocked? Are any of us really shocked that it would come to this after the many years of demonizing one man? Certainly the groups founder, Randall Terry, didnt seem shocked when he issued this statement on Sunday:

>That’s an interesting point.
Thank you.
>We’ll see if liberals are consistent on this issue. (HINT: They won’t be).
Isn’t that infuriating?
“I guess I was right. one million, two hundred and ninety thousand abortions in 1997. sigh”
Sometimes it sucks to be right...
Two quick points:
1. Tiller was a killer of humans.
2. The killer of Tiller followed the philosophy espoused by Mike Hendricks and other supporters of abortion - kill a human to solve a problem.
Look in the mirror, Mike. This killer followed your ethos not mine.
i think given what I've seen here on FR today, I'm anti-abortion...not pro-life by the examples I've seen here of folks claiming to be like big cheeses in the effort to stop abortion..
but thanks for ya’ll’s efforts anyhow

And Dr. Mengele "believed" in the superiority of the "Master Race". Does this mean anyone who killed Mengele would lose his "moral standing"?
Wow, what hysteria there is coming from the pro-baby killers.
Oh, call the freaking waaaambulance.
Tiller was an evil man who slaughtered innocents in abortion mills. How’s that for free speech?
It’s one thing to oppose this killing. We’re in agreement that vigilantiism is not good and that the killer should be punished. It’s quite another to act like a liberal and fret about the “dangers” of free speech or to worry about how others will try to define you instead of taking initiative and defining yourself.
His colleagues also say that organized crime, which has long controlled most of the Baby Killing Mills in America's cities has been muscling into more and more of the more rural Midwestern abortion operations like Tiller's.
These mills are virtual cash machines for untaxed income and massive money laundering operations. Recently, they have also become recipient's of governmental funding programs in excess of 1.5 Billion dollars annually. This was a much too attractive situation for organized crime, it's leaders in the Democrat Party and attendant soldiers and officials in the Union's to resist. These enormous cash windfalls buy elections, bribe government officials and monitize illegal drug sales operations. The skies the limit with abortion monies because nobodies anxious to recieve a reciept. God Help Us All,
DrMike
It's absolutely stunning to see how deliberately liberals pervert logic. They really, actually, are deliberately mindless hordes, and they really, actually think they can escape personal responsibility for their lives that way.
Their cowardice is literally beyond comprehension.
Utter RUBBISH!
The murderer had NOTHING to do with the Pro Life movement.
Guilt by erroneous association..
Sorry, it doesn't stick..
Nice try, better luck next time.
When you are seeking to garner support for legislating against the free speech rights of your opponents, as abortion advocates are with “hate speech” laws.

Right on the spot.
And that should be the way all pro-lifers answer this type insanity.
And?
Yep. And they get away with it every time.
Jesus was right when He said Satan is “prince of this world”. Libs are the minions of hell.
And the person who shot him should not have done so.
Easy to quite consistently put forth both statements of fact.
Reichstag Fire : the German Communists :: the Tiller murder : the pro-life movement.
The question is whether the (rest of) Obama Administration will follow suit.

Look ace. I'm not banning your speech. However, with freedom comes responsibility. You want to talk big but not take any responsibility for your words?
You can yell murderer at an abortionist all day long if your want. Go ahead knock yourself out. But if some nitwit vigalente is encouraged by your blather then you cower behind the 1st amendment like a weenie. Come on big guy take credit for this heroic act.
Remember 9/11 when conservatives were complaining that moderate Muslims weren't condeming bin Laden? Today I've seen more than a few posters uulating like a Pali in Gaza.
I am pro-life, meaning in favor of protecting innocent human life including all babies from conception forward, and thus I am against abortion.
I am against the death penalty for a different reason, since it doesn’t involve innocents: I just don’t want the idiotic government to have the power to kill citizens.
And I am against avoidable wars due to the cost of innocent human life, the expense, the undermining of other issues and principles, and the diversion of focus from home to abroad unnecessarily.
One reckoning, sought and granted.
