NOW Identifies Murder of Dr. George Tiller As Domestic Terrorism, Calls for Action from Justice Department and Homeland Security Statement of NOW President Kim Gandy

Women across the country have lost a champion today. The cold-blooded murder of Dr. George Tiller this morning in church is a stark reminder that women's bodies are still a battleground, and health care professionals are on the frontlines.
This kind man and skilled doctor braved blockades, harassment, assault, and countless threats, including an attempted murder in 1993 when he was shot in both arms. He knew his life was in constant jeopardy, and that he would likely die at the hands of an anti-abortion terrorist -- yet he continued to protect his patients and provide safe and legal abortions to women in often-desperate circumstances. Those who are behind this murder may believe that the killing of George Tiller will mean that these women will have nowhere else to turn, but they are wrong. On the contrary, I believe their depraved acts will inspire another doctor to take up the torch, and another, and another.
Dr. Tiller's slaying is the most recent in a string of murders in the service of the anti-abortion cause, and hundreds of people have been injured or threatened because they provide legal abortion services. Bringing the killers to justice is not enough - the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security must root out and prosecute as domestic terrorists and violent racketeers the criminal enterprise that has organized and funded criminal acts for decades. We call on the new attorney general Eric Holder and head of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to treat these murders in the same way they would treat politically-motivated domestic terrorism of any other kind and put the full resources of their two departments behind that effort.
Tomorrow will be a Day of Mourning for Dr. Tiller as well as a National Day of Commitment for all who believe abortion must remain both safe and legal -- who believe women have the right and indeed the moral obligation to make their own childbearing decisions. We urge individuals to wear white armbands all day tomorrow, Monday, June 1, in memory of Dr. Tiller and as a visible expression of determination to redouble our commitment to protecting the right to safe and legal birth control and abortion.

While I do not condone outright murder in or around a church, this instance has yet to be connected to the abortion doctor as a threat carried out by a pro-lifer.
In all our anger against abortion, we must guard against vigilantism. Of which this murder remains undetermined.
In all our lives we are demanded to make choices and we will stand before God for the consequences.
Does that mean the extreme Left is suggesting that we re-declare the 'war on terror?'

Who didn’t see this coming? Of course, many are still celebrating the murder to see where the real evil lies.
Here we go. "Preventive Detention" will be patriotic so long as it does not involve Muslims. Dr. Tiller was murdered and the killer should be prosecuted. That the killer likely had a lofty ideal in his mind is undone by his illegal act. The end cannot be justified by the means. Violent means will often negate the ends to which they are applied. We are still, possibly only for the time being but still, a nation under the Constitution and the rule of law.
A politically motivated murder is in fact a terrorist act.

Like he claims health care is the cause of the financial mess we are in today, this murder will be used to bring about his other agenda, his very own para military force to fight the American people.

A major letter writing campaign to Senators and Representatives needs to be initiated that calls on Congress to stop ANY attempts to waste DHS & DOJ resources chasing something that doesn’t exist. This is not a proper or worthy use of their resources. The pro-life community is not inherently violent nor given to terrorist activity. The insane acts of random wingnuts does not justify a federal persecution of a moral/political viewpoint. NOW is attempting to use Federal resources to suppress opposition. These are not the proper actions of a free society as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

For all they know he was killed by a secret gay lover or perhaps by his drug dealer or someone he cheated in a business scheme. That won’t stop the leftist death cult from worshipping their fallen “hero”.
One thing is for sure, Tiller understands the inhumanity, indignity and horror of having someone else take his life unjustly as he has been doing for years.
Tiller is the type who probably “specialized” in late term abortion, (born alive infanticide) as some kind of sick fetish. In short, a man without conscience. Say hi to Josef Mengele in hell.
