How does “omnipotence” relate to Tiller? He was anything but.

So, are our brave soldiers "murderers"? Would someone who stood up to genocide in Rwanda, or Zimbabwe, or Hitler's Germany have been a murderer? Or are you and many others here just hypocrites?

The soldiers, in that they do their killings under orders and in combat. No. The others, well there has been a lot of interesting debate.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a personal hero of mine. He was a Lutheran pastor who stood up to the Nazi's, to the point of being involved in the bomb plot. He was later killed as a result.

He is a hero in the US, but not in Germany. The reason? He crossed the line in attempting to murder the ruler of the state. Many Christians, both Lutheran and Catholic, in Germany feel that was unjustified. Helping someone escape the camps? Great. Attempting to over through the State? Not so, and evil.

They remind that Paul said to pray for the Emperor, even while the same emperor was killing Christians. He didn't say to go out an kill him.

Now, I have read enough of Bonhoffer's writings to know that he did not take that step lightly. And he knew that by taking up the sword, he would die by it. In the USA, we applaud those who tried to end the war by killing Hitler. But in Europe, they are not viewed in such a kind light. Either in Germany or out of it. The Church has often said that violent overthrow of existing rulers by their subjects is not justified in most cases. We never here that in the US, but if you ask a devout Christian from Europe you will.

Is there any possibility that Hussein put someone up to this just to make the pro-life movement look bad?

I do not feel any sadness over his death. While I do not support acts of violence such as this, Tiller’s hands were drenched in the blood of innocent babies, and it is easy to see how such heinous acts could drive someone over the edge like this.

I’m sorry that you chose murder as a career, Mr. Tiller. I am equally sorry that only now, as God passes his judgement upon you, you can understand that the killing of babies has consequences, both in life and in death.

To choose to condemn your own soul to hell is a terrible, terrible choice to make, and I’ll bet right now you wish you would have taken a different path when you had the chance to.

Nope.

They are tying it to FReepers and 'hatemongers' like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and other conservatives who 'encourage this kind of hatred and Xtian Jihad/Taliban behavior', saying everyone on FR is celebrating and planning to do this to other abortion doctors/providers--very scary to read the comments over at the DUmp--talking about 'rounding up' FReepers and other 'right wing white Xtian domestic terrorists', etc.! :-(

Actual quote from here:
"There are still freepers and murderers out there."

Sorry I don’t think like you and Jesus can deal with me and my refusal to be a loving forgiving pacifist when I’m dead...which probably is much closer to this time than my birth was.

God told the Israelites to dispossess the natives of the promised land why? Oh, because they were, among other things, SACRIFICING THEIR CHILDREN BY FIRE. Guess what God told the Israelites? If you do the same things they did, YOU TOO WILL BE JUDGED. Judah did do it. And they were judged. We do it. And we will be judged. Sacrificing children is the abomination that causes desolation. God does the judging and avenging.

Well, "they" can whine and moan all they wish about Tiller being shot, "they" can try and blame me and others who believe abortion is murder and by stating so publicly we encourage murdering Doctors who preform abortions.

However the truth of the matter is 99% of us do not condone murdering people who perform abortions however most of us will not lose sleep over the matter either.

Doc Tiller chose his own path, he may have talked himself into a position of believing he was not murdering babies but I guarantee you he considered more than once the life of a child he ended.

No same human could avoid such thoughts.

And thus he knew there are many who live in the USA who would harbor murderous intent towards him and his family. We all chose our own path and thus we all have some say in the danger we place our own lives in. Has anyone heard of a Doctor getting killed because he would not perform an Abortion? Tiller had as much to do with his own death as anyone else who takes on a risky profession. The obvious choice is if you wish to live a long and happy life do not engage in activity that places you in danger daily.

Why would an abortionist go to church?

That's what I was thinking. You'd think he would have burst into flames as soon as he walked in the door.

Have you read what Jesus does with the word of His mouth upon His return?
Rev 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”

Rev 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.”

I also thought about that. I remember one of the school shootings happened because an anti gun zealot (member of Brady) gave the kid the gun. I also remember that part of the story wasn't well reported.

"... The POS who killed Tiller has destroyed any chance of ending legalized abortion for another 100 years at least. Now things can only get worse.

I respectfully disagree with you.

The ensuing coverage will enable the pro-life side get their evidence out to the general public. To see viable babies in pieces?

I think that is a great benefit to be derived from this act of homicide. Don't forget, the man thought Tiller as Dr. Mengele.

"I also do not rule out the possibility of seeing legalized toddler murder within the next 20 years. America will be ready for it by then."

That's preposterous.

Agree in part.

There have been 8 previous abortionists who have been shot.

Actually, abortionists were pretty safe when they thought Bush and Congress might protect some of the babies.

Now? A frustrated and unstable and impatient person took the law into his own hands.

Wrong, but predictable.

Will it? Or will we discover that a great many people are no longer bothered by seeing viable babies lying in pieces?

As for the second part, I know it is not likely. However, we should use the lessons learned from the 20th century to remember that there is no nation immune to absolute evil. Germany and Japan were not full of monsters but people very similar to us. Yet look what happened.
