Sotomayor's a lightweight
World Net Daily ^ | 5/29/09 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 05/30/2009 10:19:04 AM PDT by advance_copy

When you think about it, Sonia Sotomayor is the perfect pick for the Supreme Court – in Barack Obama's America.

Like Obama, himself a beneficiary of affirmative action, she thinks "Latina women," because of their life experience, make better judicial decisions than white men, that discrimination against white men to advance people of color is what America is all about, that appellate courts are "where policy is made" in the United States.

To those who don't believe the depiction of our first Hispanic justice as an anti-white, liberal judicial activist, hearken to her own words.

Speaking at Berkeley in 2001, Sonia told her audience, "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion (as a judge) than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Imagine if Sam Alito had said at Bob Jones University, "I would hope that a wise white male with the richness of his life experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Hispanic woman, who hasn't lived that life."

Alito would have been toast. No explanation, no apology would have spared him. He would have been branded for life a white bigot.

Judge Sotomayor will be excused because the media agree with her and she is a Latina who will use her court seat to impose upon the nation the values of the National Council of La Raza (The Race), of which she is a member.

Dude’s on crack.

Wasn't that evident when he decided to run for the Presidency after serving less than a third of his first US Senate term, while having no other political experience besides being in a state legislature?

Clearly, winning something that would have been impossible if he were just another white guy has told him that he's still on a roll. And the news media is still fawning over him, although I've started to notice a bit of change in the tone of the late-night comedians' jokes.

He certainly has people who still worship the water he walks on, and he's likely to stay within that bubble long after the rest of us have started to see it bursting. That's how Jimmy Carter went down, I'm counting on the same thing to happen to Obambi.

She wasn’t chosen for her intellect. She was nominated for her thoroughly dependable, leftist decisions.

She needs a huge tax problem or a legion of undocumented household help. Otherwise, bigotry and incompetence will take her to the pinnacle of judiciary power in 0bama Nation.
Throw in gay or socialistic, and she’ll get even more confirmation votes.

“With her confirmation, the days of biting our tongues could be over.”

Nope. No change with Obama and no change with her.

I didn’t mean to suggest that Nobama and the new Supreme will somehow bring a new era of free and open speech to this nation. Far from it. My point was that she’s going to he confirmed even though she made a very racist statement, so we can now make similar statements if we choose. Ms. La Raza is my new excuse and cover for any politically incorrect statements I will make from this point forward.

"Do we want a smart Communist, or do we want a stupid Communist? Seems to me, we want a stupid Communist. Which is why Sotomayer should be confirmed...."

If I may add what I believe to be an even more important element in the mix, one I hope national writers will soon come to see, it is this:

Her puny mind and talentless written opinions and rhetorical lack of persuasion will prove such a metaphorical slap at the other eight justices that they will resent Obama and hold him responsible for his rank offense in nominating her.

In other words, whether liberal or conservative, whether we like them personally or not, the remaining justices do have core principles and can argue soberly, forcefully, and intellectually for their opinions. This justice will be a vote, nothing more, a reflection of the sordid discernment of the equally unaccomplished pantywaist in the WH.

Pat’s right but it is so un-PC to write or say it that the GOP is cowed by it already. Only Talk Radio and Fox have any guts to go after her on her positions which would , if she were a Pub, would get her not advised or consented!!
