Mark McKinnon: The GOP's Suicide Mission (RINO Alert)
The Daily Beast ^ | 5/26/09

Memo to my party: Blasting targets like Sonia Sotomayor is a surefire strategy to guarantee our extinction.

If the GOP is ever to be resurgent, it has to pick its fights carefully. The tendency is, unfortunately, to shoot at everything that moves.

Here are a couple of fights we don’t need: Colin Powell and Sonia Sotomayor.

Let’s face it, Sotomayor is a political trifecta. Woman. Hispanic. Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval from George H. W. Bush.

Yes, Mitch McConnell has to make his pro forma gestures about doing due diligence. And it is important to fully examine Judge Sotomayor’s judicial record. But, every day this confirmation battle gets unreasonably extended is a good day for Democrats and a bad day for Republicans.

Sotomayor is going to be confirmed. There is little doubt about it. So, going into weeks or months of paroxysms and hysterics about alleged “judicial activism” is just going to make the party look bitter, tone deaf, and out of touch.

No one is suggesting that Dick Cheney or Rush Limbaugh leave the party. So why are they insistent on defining the party as such an exclusive club? It’s a recipe for permanent minority status.

But I think it’s great that there are strongly conservative voices in the party. Hell, I loved seeing Liz Cheney out burning up the TV circuits defending the policies of President Bush. She’s a superstar in the making. I don’t agree with everything she says, but I think it’s good that the party has a broad chorus singing the hymns. Even if it’s not in perfect harmony.

So, for the good of the party, after applying reasonable due diligence, we ought to be prepared to wave a white flag on Sotomayor, and move on.

The sooner the RINOs (i.e. bushy1, bushy2, colon, etc) return home to the left-wing socialist party, the sooner the conservative Americas can begin recapturing our America.

What a great man Wallace was. Mel played him well. Don’t know when and where the new Lexington and Concorde will occur. But they will occur. I am getting old knees shot. Wrists going. Still, I would give all I have to be there standing with Patriots.

Failing to stand up against a nominee who seeks to advance her own prejudices anathema to the Constitution will only further the socialist cause to stifle dissent. By this line of thinking we should relent because the socialists have already stomped on the Constitution.

Did Winston Churchill ever shut up? You must have fire in your belly and conviction in your heart to be a great politician.

I’m so sick of this argument that minorities and women are not subject to the same rules (i.e. criticisms) as everyone else. Pandering to these “groups” is what’s got this country in this situation in the first place.

They can either be like adults and take the heat or get the hell out of the kitchen. Obama, Sotomayor . . . any one. It’s almost FIVE DECADES since Civil Rights legislation. They either get the job done and act like responsible adults or sit down and shut up.

McKinnon can go shove it — his ads were horrible for Bush and he is not a Republican IMHO if he liked ZERO and refused to do McCain ads.

Other than helping GW, what evidence is there that McKinnon is a Republican ?
His past and present is filled with Democrats from Begala to Ann Richards to Dukakis.
He recently planned to start a website called Hotsoup with Joe Lockhart, Clinton’s press secretary ,
Matthew Dowd-the Democrat who advised GW and then turned on Republicans and Carter Eskew-Al Gore’s top advisor.
My Irish grandmother always cautioned us
“ Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are.”
We know who McKinnon’s friends are....

This guy was a demonrat. He worked for Dubya and during that time one of his employees stole a debate prep book and sent it to Gore.

He further stated that if Obama was the presidential nominee he would NOT work for the republicans.

who gives a damn what he thinks.

Republicans and Conservatives (Sessions) are not fighting because they fear the MSM more than us.

We have no power to communicate against them, the MSM/DNC can blackmail them into meekness because they can ruin their reputations and livelihoods.

>> Memo to my party: Blasting targets like Sonia Sotomayor

If she’s not a target, why refer to her as one?

>> So, for the good of the party, after applying reasonable due diligence, we ought to be prepared to wave a white flag on Sotomayor, and move on.

If it’s not a battle, why consider surrendering under the pretense it was something almost worth fighting for?

In the meantime, the non-Liberal, non-white Americans continue to get shat upon for lack of recognition.

Allowing Obama to continue to further his agenda is even worse.
