I suppose for community service they’ll make him mow the park.

Some men just can't stand unkept grass. My husband is one of them.

Could you please send him over to my house? Thank you.

The lectures used to be in place of being arrested for minor infractions. It sounds like you had a bully hiding behind a badge, badgering you because of her preferences. The second you told her to take a hike, there is a good chance she would’ve cuffed you and thrown you in a car to be booked at the station. We must be very careful how we step in this day and age, comrade.

I think citizens and police officers don’t understand each other anymore. There is a communication disconnect. “Back in the day,” for the most part, the officer would’ve talked him off the mower, said he understood his beef, told him to quit shredding up the trash and everything would’ve been cool. No more.

Thanks for the quote. I have the book on order with my local library. I hope it comes in soon.

It’s getting very difficult to avoid breaking the law. It is an oppressive atmosphere in which we Americans find ourselves.

It is difficult to comprehend the police getting involved in this type of incident, but it is no longer surprising.

Hard to say what the cop said but I work in a downtown ER and I can tell you, John Q Public has an inflated sense of self and a limited understanding of the implications of making a uniformed officer's life difficult.

Most of the people I meet would respond to your policeman's request with an FU.

I used to do ride alongs with a college buddy who was a cop. I quickly realized that I could never be a cop because about 1/4 of the people he dealt with, I would have shot and felt like I did the world a service.

Yah and just this week I mowed the front lawn of the now vacant neighbors house thats in foreclosure out of courtesy to myself and the rest of the neighbors.

Wonder how many years I could get for such a good deed ?

The city I live near tells you what kind of grass to plant, when to water it, when to mow it, when to not mow it and also sends law enforcement officers around to measure the encroachment of grass, trees and bushes on “their” sidewalk, alleys and streets, which they also mandate you maintain to their exact specifications.

I’d love to see him ordered to mow that very park...as punishment lol

No revenue in that.

Same reason you can't even pay a cop to investigate a property crime. Sometimes, you can't even get them to show up. You have to go down to the donut......er.....cop shop to file your own report.

A cop (plainclothes but she identified herself as a cop) recently lectured me about my 6 year old boy, strapped in the car with a seatbelt, who she felt I was endangering by not keeping him in a booster seat longer

Plainclothes cops should be shot dead by other plainclothes cops, like happened yesterday in NYC.

If you're a cop doing cop work, you should wear a cop uniform and be in a marked cop car.

This poor man got caught in a literal "turf war" and forgot who was boss!

WAIT, the city forgot that the people are the BOSS.

The poor little park workers felt intimidated...

I reckon he embarrased the city for not doing their job.
