Sen. John Cornyn on the Mark Davis show WBAP 840
5/29/2006 | Steeltrap

Posted on 05/29/2009 7:57:48 AM PDT by SteelTrap

Senator Cornyn was on the Mark Davis show this morning and addressed the Charlie Crist endorsement and the Supreme Court nomination.

Senate race in FL: He said nothing new, same old same old argument about trying to win the seat rather than going for who is the more conservative. Mentioned he wanted to avoid a conservative circular firing squad.

Supreme Court: He said the comments by Rush and Newt were "over the line" and not helpful.

I have called his office and let them know I am not happy with his endoresement of Crist and his comment about Rush and Newt being "over the line". I have had it with this guy.

Wow you would think after listening to WBAP for 40 years I would know that it is WBAP 820....not 840. Sorry Hal Jay!

Cornball Cornyn should just shut his damn piehole.

He’s obviously trying to fill the RINO void left by Spector.

I hate it when Mark David coddles these politicians. The senator had some good points about questioning Sotomayor but you could tell he is going to roll over when the time comes.

John Cornyn now joins the Rodney King wing of the GOP -

“can’t we all just get along?”

I bet if he was a Roman Senator he’d be OK with appointing Caligula’s horse to the Senate, too.

Crist, think Spector in a green hat.

Why bother.

Cornyn and Crist can go and join Spectre as far as I am concerned. I have about had it with the GOP.

I am a lifelong Republican and a Texas voter and I plan to actively work to defeat RINO Cornyn in 2014.

I emailed his office 3 separate times asking for Cornyn’s stand on Obama citizenship and got no response.

When I called, I was told, “Sen. Cornyn supports President Obama.”

I asked if it was his stand on gun control or Cap & Trade or higher taxes that he supports. Got a surly response.

These politicians hate it when they have to deal with the disgruntled general public.

We are in a battle for the very heart of this country and our soldiers at the front line (Congress) might as well be toy soldiers.

You don’t have be uncivil or rude, be statesmen and stand up and fight for what is right. You might lose, but at the very least you could go to sleep at night believing you fought for freedom! And you might get the admiration and respect, instead of disdain, from your constituents. Heck, Obama already has plenty of rubber stamps in Congress.

Where are the Conservative warriors in Washington?

My emails to Cornyn get nothing but generic responses. If there is any Conservative alternative when its his time, he’s gone.

“trying to win the seat rather than going for who is the more conservative”

Yeah, stick with that loser theory. After all, it has worked so well for McCain, Specter, Coleman, etc.

Yeah, Cornyn just won re-election in ‘08. What is going on with him? What a disappointment.

I think both Cornyn and Hutchison are buying into the entire pander to Hispanics approach to future political success. I wouldn't be surprised if they both support amnesty when it next comes up.

You should have heard Mark Davis at the Dem convention back in the 2000 election.

He was giddy as a schoolgirl and almost wet himself, he was so excited to show how he could reach across the aisle. Slobbering all over any lib who would stop at his microphone booth.

And when Brokeback Mountain came out, he praised it highly on his show. I kid you not.

So open minded. I can’t understand why Rush has this egomaniacal bonehead hosting his show.

I remember Cornyn favoring amnesty, before he was against it. This was about 8 or 9 years ago, IIRC.

I know he opposed it in 2006, then was sort of shaky in 2007. Now that he was reelected in 2008, he might prove like John Kyl after Kyl campaigned against amnesty in 2006, then won reelection and came back as one of its biggest supporters in 2007.

All these border state senators are either pro amnesty, or very shaky on the issue now. I've heard Kyl praised as the greatest conservative senator, but to me he is utterly contemptible for his 100% dishonest campaign of 2006, then the flip to pro-amnesty in 2007.
