According to a story in today's Sun by Brent Jones, Phoenix, is in stable condition at an unnamed hospital in Pennsylvania. Sounds like the next few days will be touch and go as she fights potential infections and other burn-related issues. In case anyone missed yesterday's stories, someone in Southwest Baltimore doused the 1-year-old pit bull puppy with gasoline and set her on fire. A police office saw her in flames and put the fire out with a sweater. There is a $1,000 reward being offered for information on who might have done that to the dog. Unleashed will try to keep you posted on Phoenix's condition and related news.

Don’t have to love pitbulls to be disgusted by this story.
I don’t care for Pit Bulls but it’s still a dog.
Do that to a dog and I believe it should be done to you.

I am no fan of pitbulls, I’ve never had to deal with them personally but their reputation is such I would never trust them or want my kids around them. That being said whoever did this needs to be arrested and taken for a time out from society for a nice long while.
I hate pit bulls but this is beyond the pale. Whoever did this is a monster. But why are they treating the dog? why not put itr out of it’s misery?
Groups of people stood around watching it burn. A police officer rode by and smothered the poor thing with her sweatshirt.
Many shelters and animal rescue groups are struggling for money and have more animals to care for than resources. Why use those resources rescuing this dog -- it would be better to put him to sleep and grab a healthy dog from Loudoun that is going to be put to sleep.
might not have had an owner. This breed of dog is so abused and over bred for malicious intent that there are tons of strays out there. Could hvae been a dog that showed no aggressive behavior and was deemed unqualified to fight by a scumbag and thus he let her free into the streets.

Anyone who is so callous, cruel, and evil towards a dog would have no problem exhibiting this same behavior towards a person.
The “Don’t be a SNITCH.” so pervasive in some “communities” will ensure this dirtbag is never found out.

I have two white shepherds. If someone did this to my dogs I would set them on fire and then put the fire out with blasts from my 12 Ga. 870.
In that area of town, I’d say around %115 would be a more accurate guess. No sarcasm.
Quite a few polling places are without Republican judges in the Baltimore area during voting. Empty lots, dead people voting (of course), multiple votes, etc. aren’t even challenged in many cases.
