(Note: this report is a paraphrase based on memory, not tape. Any inaccuracies will be corrected down thread by me or other FReepers.)
Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.
FR threads one and two.

Michelle Malkin on Fox and Friends.
bingo
You know you are a pathetic marshmallow when Luntz calls you out!
I just speak the truth. I guess some just don't like to hear it.
I still remember years ago when O’Reilly sided with the publicity agents of an Arab nation - I think it was Saudi Arabia - against an American family seeking the return of a member kidnapped into that nation. He’s basically an pompous idiot.
Or, as Rush says, he is Ted Baxter.
FR etiquette requires that, when you reference another Freeper, you notify them by copying them to your post.
Jim didn’t call anyone names. He was accurately describing O’Really as an elitist gasbag.
Class has nothing to do with it. O’Really deliberately misinformed his viewers about Hot Air and FreeRepublic. Michelle Malkin used to be a guest host, and he was schooled on his errors about FR almost three years ago when he slandered us the first time.
Thus, it makes all of his other statements suspect, if he is willing to tolerate half truths to support his positions.
Bill O’Reilly is a fence-sitting, middle-of-the-road, forked-tongued, so-so, loofah-loving, big BABY. [So there.]
Besides, is anyone more in love with himself than BOR?

He and Zero are in the same narcissistic camp as far as I’m concerned.
I want to like Glenn Beck. I do like Glenn Beck. But there comes a time when I can’t stand any more of him. He’s just too much. He needs to back away from the edge because he’s way too close.
O'Reilly is one guy who does a decent enough job and more often than not is on the side of common sense (aka the conservative side).
If so, he's more of a clueless moron than I thought.
Mr Bills integrity is certainly at question here.
I haven't watched blowhard Bill in years, but now I'm going to watch him even less.
He’s pretty self-centered.
Bill’s a dork. I decide.
I watch very little TV, and when I do it's Fox. Lately, I don't care much for Fox. There's one dude on Fr that has the name chuck the TV out. That's the way I'm leaning.
Yes, it’s a pretty sure sign of a self-centered narcissist when he only listens to himself and won’t admit when he’s wrong.
As for the reference to Sotomayor’s possible health problems by a poster on FR, that seems fair enough to me. The age and the probable length of tenure of a Supreme Court nominee are ALWAYS matters of interest and concern. I don’t believe that anyone said they wished she would die, as that fatuous comedienne did about Rush at the Washington Press Club, with Obama grinning and smirking at her vile comments. And, yes, he was caught on camera doing it.
O’Blowhard is a freakin’ Populist of the worse kind.
Ok! Enough! Who here made an obnoxious comment about Comrade Sodomizer?
Thanks....I told FBF his post was rude...
A decent job?
Check out his job with the ACORN bots tonight.
No wonder he was the host of an entertainment show.
There’s no “there”, there.
