"John McCain is an American hero," Zak said of the 2008 Republican presidential nominee. "We're honored and humbled to have his endorsement. We're looking forward to working with him to improve California."
(snip)
Whitman served as national co-chair of McCain's presidential campaign. She received another endorsement Thursday when House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Virginia, announced that he was backing her.
"The state needs a leader with a creative vision, with a formula for success that can address the fiscal challenges that you face and there is no one better than Meg Whitman," Cantor said in a statement posted on Whitman's web site. "I'm very honored to be part of her team."

Why are Cantor and McCain hanging out? First it was at the NC4NA, and now...this.

Cantor has turned out to be such a disappointment.

I think Eric Cantor may be other than what I thought he was. I will have to pay close attention.

I think we can go overboard with the guilty by association thing here.
Look, has McCain proven himself to be a RINO? Obviously.
Has Cantor? Absolutely not. He’s supporting Whitman for gov; okay, I get the annoyance. But is there anyone else running that’s better?
I’m not so quick to call Cantor a RINO because he’s backing Whitman.

Whitman is just going to be Schwarzenegger’s 3rd term. Unless she addresses serious, long-term issues like illegals and their anchor babies consuming the lion’s share of state benefits, an anti-business climate, environmental wackos, government bureaucrats statists, and bloated public unions, then it doesn’t matter which Republican runs. The aforementioned groups aren’t going to support Whitman, and what’s left of the productive tax base are going stay home and continue to bend over, leave, fight for their own state, or the state will become a province of Mexico. McCain and Cantor’s support of Whitman only confirms conservative’s suspicions that Republicans haven’t learned the lessons of 2006 & 2008.

She did have the propositions called correctly. That said, you’re on the money about illegal aliens not carrying their weight.

But is there anyone else running thats better? Like I said, it doesn't matter who runs for Governor. If the issues that I posted aren't forcibly addressed, then the state will continue with the status-quo. I haven't heard anything from Whitman otherwise, and historically rich businessmen or women make horrible politicians.

Larry Elder is seriously considering running.

Cantor disappoints again after his urging of Republicans to vote for that unconstitutional tax.
But to be fair there is not a conservative Republican running for CA Governor. Just 3 RINOs.

Cantor is a RINO. See his vote on the stimulus vote.

It would be better to have a real rat in than Mr. Kennedy, he’d do the same things but the rat party would get 100% of the blame.

It is starting to look that way. I was so excited about him during the ‘Drill Here, Drill Now’ debate and Pelosi turning the lights out, etc.....but it has been downhill ever since.
