Who cares about a privileged old white woman? /s

I have long admired the Queen -- to me she represents an older, better Britain. In her life she has done her duty and acted with the dignity appropriate to the Queen of England. One cannot say that about Prince Charles, "the People's Princess", and the rest of the royal family.

When one remembers that Zero’s baby daddy opposed the British in Kenya in the 1950s, when Kenya was a British colony, all of these slights against the British come into clear focus.

Is that the way he treats all old “typical white” ladies, akin to Grandma?

Elizabeth (nice name, that!) and I are distantly related. I have always admired her poise, courage, and grace. I remember her coronation, and her marriage to Prince Philip. She’ll always be my favorite Brit, hands down. If she was deliberately snubbed for these events, she is right to be furious. If it was an accident, she will be the first to acknowledge it, and move on. She’s simply CLASSY.

To be fair, Prince Andrew flew combat missions in the Falklands.

Her personal qualities and even her own war record, fine as they are, are irrelevant. The countries of which she happens to be Head of State together committed even more troops to the Normandy landings than did the United States: and for that reason alone her presence should be beyond question.

She should go anyway. Screw protocol and the political maneuvering. She's the only one out of the three that actually deserves to walk such hallowed ground.

Now the Brits know how the members of the 303rd Kosciuszko RAF Squadron felt back on VE-Day when Poles were not allowed to march in London’s VE-Day parade, out of fear of offending Uncle Joe.

Shameful! There would be no D Day without England! The more I learn about that woman the more I realize what a great person she is. She has every right to be pissed!

Nicholas and Barry can do the next best thing and just send the queen a recording of the event e-mailed to her I-phone.

The queen is head of a dysfunctional family and the symbolic head of an increasingly irrelevant country. What’s not to like?

She should call the privvy council and gather her noblemen and strike now with full fury while the iron is hot.

No time to waste in matters of threats to the crown.

(she’s a Windsor though...what do they know)

They were wrong to do this, but I have no real admiration for QEII. She knighted Elton John. Enough said.

...she was not invited to join President Obama and France's president, Nicolas Sarkozy, next week at commemorations of the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy... The queen, who is 83, is the only living head of state who served in uniform during World War II. As Elizabeth Windsor, service number 230873, she volunteered as a subaltern in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service, training as a driver and a mechanic. Eventually, she drove military trucks in support roles in England.
