Increasing numbers of Chrysler dealers are disputing the bankrupt automakers claim that it selected dealerships for closure on purely economic grounds, and they have filed a suit against the automaker in U.S. bankruptcy court.
"My business is being stolen from me under the guise of the bankruptcy laws [and] given to another dealer down the street," Jim Anderer, owner of Island Jeep in Lindenhurst, N.Y., told Reuters.
Like many of the 789 Chrysler dealerships slated for closure, Anderer claims his retail outlet was profitable.
Many of the closed dealers were also major donors to Republican candidates and political action committees,...
This has led to accusations, which Rush Limbaugh aired last week, that President Obama's auto task force has been playing political favorites, first by forcing Chrysler into bankruptcy, and then by targeting dealerships for closure that funded the presidents political enemies.
...
It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers," Bellavia said. "It really wasn't Chrysler's decision. They are under enormous pressure from the president's automotive task force."

One company that stands to benefit in a major way from the Chrysler restructuring is called RLJ-McLarty-Landers, a start-up owned by Democratic Party insiders that operates six Chrysler dealerships throughout the South.
Co-owners Robert L. Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television, and Mack McLarty, chief of staff to president Bill Clinton, provided capital and political clout to the partnership, which they formed in September 2007.
...
According to another blog, RLJ-McCarty-Landers will retain all of its six dealerships, while eight competing dealerships [will be] totally eliminated from three of their markets.

My hatred of these people grows tenfold every time I see this story. I sense really, really bad stuff on the way.
Could anyone tell me where the hell the Republicans in Congress are? Why aren’t they screaming about this?? Playing nice does not work with this bunch out of Chicago, where I used to live and which has to be one of the most corrupt places on Earth. At least Gov. Manchin in West Virginia, where they shut down 9 out of 17 Chrysler dealerships in a Red State, is yelling loudly about this abuse of power.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
This is exactly like Mugabee confiscating the white owned farms in Zimbawe and giving it to his “war veteran” supporters. Now they cannot feed themselves.
Confiscate your political opponent’s supporters businesses and give them to your political supporters.
The car companies will surely fail under this “leadership”.
A year form now, we will be in disbelief that anyone thought this would work.
er, where is the link?
Change.............
What did you expect....clean politics or the same old dirty Chicago thug politic moves he has been dealing with .
Nothing new here.
Call it a pond filled with possibility.
The thing about scum, is that scum attracts scum.
in the physical world we’d chalk it up to “surface tension”.
In the political arena, we call it scum as well.
Nail the scum.
This needs to grow legs - to expose scum.
What is this?
Do you know?
bump
Tom Sullivan is on this!
He had a recording of Bunning(sp) questioning Tim Geitner about this very thing!
The story is pretty big among bloggers such as redstate.org!
This is from my lousy memory.
I totally agree.
I do believe that we conservatives are on our own. The congressional republicans got theirs, they don’t care.
Well nobody I know will ever buy a vehicle from them again. They’ll have to give them to their cronies, which I’m sure is in the works.
Doesn’t that just make your blood pressure rise with these RINOS.
I agree with you; we appear to be on our own and with the exception of a few in Congress (primarily the senators from Oklahoma, Alabama and one from SC), we have to rely on Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and Cheney to lead the opposition because it ain’t coming from John Boehner, John McCain or Mitch McConnell.
Maybe they think it’s payback for McCain not winning and them losing the majority in Congress. If they do, that’s going to be a vicious circle where nobody wins, including them. Specter already jumped ship, he’s just the first and the most brazen of them. They blow us off, we stay home in elections, they blow us off, we stay home...until it’s all rats in government and they either have to join the fight or knuckle under to their rat marxist overlords.
I’d love to tell you where they are, but I can’t. As usual, they are so fearful of being called names by the press if they oppose Obama, that they say nothing. They are gutless. And they ask me for donations? I keep replying that I don’t donate to them until they get some testicular fortitude.
