BREAKING NEWS
PHOENIX - The 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson died at a hospital Tuesday, a day her neck apparently got caught in a treadmill cord at her Phoenix home.
Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon, police spokesman Andy Hill said. She had been on life support since the accident Monday.
Police said Exodus either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hanging under the console. Her 7-year-old brother found her and told their mother. She took Exodus off the cord, called 911 and tried to revive her.

So sad. Prayers for her and her family.
Dang, prayers for Mike and the rest of the family.
Dreadful thing for the family, but where was the adult supervision? The article only mentions her seven year old brother who found his sister.
So sad, I'd been wondering if she was improving this morning.
This is a very sad loss all the more so because it was freak accident. I wonder if this has occurred before?
Condolences and sympathy to the Tysons.
What a horrible thing, to lose your child. Prayers for the Tyson family.
Prayers up for the whole family. What a horrible loss.
THis happened fast,,doesn’t take long. Parents are not in the same room all the time with kids. He got the Mom who called 911,,she is a physician if I remember right.
We have that little cord on our treadmill and it pops loose if you fall,,it is connected by a little clip like a clothes pin. She must have gotten it around her neck at an odd angle.
Never heard of it with a treadmill cord. Venetian blinds are usually the cause.
I have a three year old granddaughter,,called her mom to take up all the blind cords and drapery cords,,it is horrible.
At the time of the accident, the son of a friend of mine was about 13 and was nearly strangled in a tug-of-war in a middle school gym class. Lots of supervision but nobody realized it until it was almost too late.
WHen my girls were very small they learned “nothing around the neck”. Later it was “nobody ties you up”,,there was a kid in the neighborhood who loved to tie the other kids up,,a girl no less.
Venetian blinds scared me,,they kill kids the same way.
As to adult supervision, at age four, kids can get places you wouldn't believe faster than you can believe. This is so sad.
I agree, prayers for everyone who loved her.
Even a jump rope can be a hazard, if they won't play right with it. Mrs. Joe has cut up a couple of them to make the point.
Mrs Joe sounds like my kind of Mom/grandmom.
I think my daughters are so concerned about making kids anxious that they don’t warn enough. About daily dangers and rules such as nothing around the neck for any reason.
Sad.
