GLENN BECK, HOST: President Obama is constantly talking about Spain and their success rate with green jobs. Well, one Spanish professor doesn't agree. He's conducted a green jobs study in Spain showing different results.
Here is Professor Gabriel Calzada.
Professor, what have you found in your study in Spain? What's the truth of the green jobs?
GABRIEL CALZADA, SPANISH PROFESSOR: Well, we found that the jobs that we are creating, since you are taking the resources from other parts of the economy, this is making well, destroying jobs in other parts of the economy.
For every job that you are creating, 2.2 jobs are not being created in the rest of the economy.

I did a quick search, Heritage has also noticed how green jobs destroy regular jobs.

As the consequence of an acquisition, I now have the “pleasure” of working for one of the Green Spanish companies. I can’t speak to what it is doing to the Spanish jobs/economy, but I can speak to the consequences it has had on the company:
Being Green is a liability that just keeps giving. Even with subsidized capitalization of Green construction, the Operating cost still require subsidization. One needs deep pockets or rich friends to be Green...
Green jobs are for smarmy leftist intellectual types. Blue collar jobs are for the proletariat and peasants. The objective off the left is to keep themselves employed and the blue collar class dependent on the state by destroying their jobs and getting them on welfare.
I don't see how anybody with a brain can't see that.
The high taxes, fees, and penalties required to subsidize "green" jobs kills more jobs than it "creates." The high energy prices required to make "green" energy competitive kill businesses, institutions, and family budgets.
Around here they squawk about getting some windmill factory jobs as if nobody else had thought of it. There is a large solar panel factory that DOES NOT have it's roof plastered with solar panels. Why is that? Apparently they are too expensive compared to good old coal fired electricity. If that is not the case, you would think they would be generating at least some panels on the roof.

It’s one thing to instinctually know something is wrong, it’s another thing to see it widely talked about in the news.

Agreed. But now you can attach an actual number to your argument.
A 1/2.2 ratio would mean that 5 green jobs kills 11 non.
That’s not good odds.
LOL
Orwell was an optimist.
