Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's pick to become the newest Supreme Court justice, is on the record with some controversial remarks about 'diversity,' 'judicial activism' and female judges vs. male judges.
For example, the New York Times reported that in 2001, at the annual Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture, Sotomayor had this to say:
I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasnt lived that life.
Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, she said later, regarding non-white, female judges, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.
Also, there is a 2005 video of Sotomayor, speaking with potential law clerks, saying that a court of appeals is where policy is made. She added: And I know I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we dont make law. I know. O.K. I know. Im not promoting it. Im not advocating it ...

Her dissent in Hayden v Pataki.....
[t]he duty of a judge is to follow the law, not to question its plain terms. I do not believe that Congress wishes us to disregard the plain language of any statute or to invent exceptions to the statutes it has created. . . . But even if Congress had doubts about the wisdom of subjecting felony disenfranchisement laws to the results test of § 2, I trust that Congress would prefer to make any needed changes itself, rather than have courts do so for it.
This is her contradiction in statements that should be looked at closely. This case was about the VRA being applied to convicted felons.
Yeah, white "males" don't have any experiences that are worth squat, lady. Our lives are just worthless wastes of time compared to yours.
/Do I really need a sarc tag? :^)
This is one arrogant, stupid female who, like most libs of “importance,” vastly overestimate their knowledge and wisdom.
So she’s a racist and a sexist - is anyone surprised?
"I doubt if the oppressed ever fight for freedom. They fight for pride and for power -- power to oppress others. The oppressed want above all to imitate their oppressors; they want to retaliate."
"Ours is a golden age of minorities. At no time in the past have dissident minorities felt so much at home and had so much room to throw their weight around. They speak and act as if they were the people, and what they abominate most is the dissent of the majority".
"Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of the many which make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority".
"They who clamor loudest for freedom are often the ones least likely to be happy in a free society. The frustrated, oppressed by their shortcomings, blame their failure on existing restraints. Actually, their innermost desire is for an end to the "free for all." They want to eliminate free competition and the ruthless testing to which the individual is continually subjected in a free society".
"The sick in soul insist that it is humanity that is sick, and they are the surgeons to operate on it. They want to turn the world into a sickroom. And once they get humanity strapped to the operating table, they operate on it--with an ax".
Richness of experience counts an immeasurable amount to the elites in DC and the East Coast. Except when it is a black Woman appointed as the Secretary of State. Then you can pen cartoons depicting her as Aunt Jemima.
Racists, one and all.....
I can’t wait for the Iowahawk take on this. “Latina she make the better hoodge.”
No doubt she pay the better tax too and has never hire the help without the card.
“I hope we bash her unmercifully.”
Unfortunately, one of the things going against us is that even if we could prove this woman was a drug dealer, terrorist, racist, and a pedophile who had never heard of the supreme court, any opposition would be seen as anti-hispanic racism. Another is that most people have come to accept and even expect “identity based” legal decisions. In other words, NO, ONE, CARES. The tipping point was reached years ago, the majority of voters these days are ignorant parasites, leftist dupes, anti-white racists, enviro-freaks, homo-activists, neo-hippys and a variety of other stuck on stupid types. THE COUNTRY VOTED FOR THIS and things wont change until people get disgusted with it.
I love how everybody is falling all over themselves to pronounce her name in the illegal alien dialect.
Amen, brother-you said it all.
Hell, if it was a quota pick, I’d just as soon have it be J Lo or Eva Longoria—probably no less qualified, and at least they’d be looking good up there.......
Probably a La Raza rooter.
And more intelligent people are going, going, going GALT.
This “thing” is in the same class as bozo, got where she is by affirmative action with no qualifications.
Oh, wait...are we talking about jurisprudence?
“THE COUNTRY VOTED FOR THIS and things wont change until people get disgusted with it.”
Correct. All the more reason to bash her unmercifully.
