I may be wrong here, but it’s my take this woman will never make it to the SCOTUS.

She’s incompetent in addition to the rest of the negatives that will be raised in connection with her.

With her own speech it looks like this maybe a loose shell that comes back to hit him and the whole group!! That would be very nice.

Well, we have the first Bush to thank for putting this lady in position to be nominated. Afterall, Obama can say that he “reached across the aisle” and picked a Bush appointee and the moderates will support this ultra liberal woman.

That opportunity came with the vacancy on the Supreme Court created when David Souter announced he would step down at the end of the current session.

Not really trying to hijack the thread, but whatever came of the lawsuit to take Souter's property in NH based on the SCOTUS eminent domain law that he'd ruled in favor of???

WTF? It is not like this was totally unexpected. The GOP may do stupid things but they are not entirely brain dead. They saw this pick coming a mile away. It is not like BHO was going to nominate Hillary Clinton to throw the Pubs off.

boiled down, they’re saying that by picking a Hispanic, Obama gains favor with a voting group the R’s desperately need to curry favor with. When they go to the voting booth, Hispanic voters will remember Obama is the guy who put “one of their own” on the highest court in the land.

But this comes as a surprise to whom?

She’s radical, incompetent, and bullying.

She’ll be confirmed quickly by the democrats.

How is this an ‘outflank’ when she was on every ‘short-list’ I saw published?

Obummer only “outflanks” the GOP if the Republicans are too spineless to insist on a strict constructionist, constitutialist regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation of the nominee.

Come to think of it, Zero may have “outflanked” them.

But beyond questions of qualifications, temperament, and intellectual heft, Sotomayor is the perfect political choice for the president.

It's a bit of a tongue-in-cheek analysis.

It is correct that leftist mouthpieces like the NY Times and the networks will embrace and trumpet "her story" but with enough hammering from the right, they will eventually be forced to address the rather obvious issue that she's a racist incompetent boob.

She's not just ill-suited to do the job of Supreme Court Justice, her previous statements clearly indicate that she doesn't even know what the job is.

The community organizer-in-chief has outflanked the GOP and the knee pad press because he knows his "Rules for Radicals" so well.

Consider the fact that last week the community organizer-in-chief was on the losing side of some very important issues, closing GITMO and Nazi Pelosi vs CIA, and the issue of the safety of American citizens.

There is no surprise in this pick for the Supreme Court, it was the timing of announcing the pick.

Last week Darth Cheney schooled the organizer in chief, heck, he even had to compete with dueling speeches. That had to twist his drawers!

Cheney addressed the fact that the United States is weaker today than it has been anytime since 9/11. Then on top of this, Korea launches a nuke test and Amadinnerjacket is shooting Barry the middle finger.

The organizer needed to refocus the discussion away from the threats and valid arguments Cheney presented. What better way to accomplish this than to pull the mules ear and announce the appointment?

RULE 11: "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative." Never let the enemy score points because you're caught without a solution to the problem.

My two cents.

Remember how we went from Zoe Baird, to Kimba Wood, to Janet Reno? Folks, Reno was the first choice all along. This is a setup. Pay attention.

Obama "outflanks" the GOP?

The GOP has flanks? Who knew?

I thought all they had was a fat a$$ upon which hangs a large "KICK ME!" sign.
