I demand that all korans in the United States be confiscated and burned. Hear that, Zero, you SOB?
From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
It isn’t like BO didn’t tell us before he won anyway.
Gubmnt or anyone comes to take MY families Bible and there WILL be a problem.
this clearly an attack at christianity, whoever responsible should lose his job
There was a rule already in effect to prevent someone from bringing in the Bibles like this within the military. So its a disciplinary action no matter how you look at the situation. As for the burning...the officer who gave the order will get a medal, but he’ll be known for the rest of his career as “BB”...(Bible-burner)...which isn’t a positive nickname in the Army.
The responsible culprits need to be held accountable.
Just wait, I’f these fool are’nt stopped at the ballot box, We’ll see the “brownshirts” go door to door for your books and guns.
Is there any reliable news source that backs this up? A hysterical screed from a previously unknown source will not be taken seriously by most.
As a retired Army chaplain, I am in agreement with most of the message of this article. But, once again I must point out that the chaplain was court-martialed for appearing at a political rally, albeit to pray, in uniform, although he had been specifically ordered not to by a flag officer. It was never about prayer, it was about appearing in uniform when ordered (properly) not to.
Military burns unsolicited Bibles sent to Afghanistan
"This was irresponsible and dangerous journalism sensationalizing year-old footage of a religious service for U.S. soldiers on a U.S. base and inferring that troops are evangelizing to Afghans," Col. Gregory Julian said. The military says a soldier at Bagram received the Bibles and didn't realize he wasn't allowed to hand them out. In the Al Jazeera video, which shows the Bibles at the prayer service, an unnamed soldier says members of his church raised money for them.
The chaplain later corrected the soldier and confiscated the Bibles, Wright said.
Military officers considered sending the Bibles back to the church, he said, but they worried the church would turn around and send them to another organization in Afghanistan -- giving the impression that they had been distributed by the U.S. government.
That could lead to violence against troops or U.S. civilians, Wright said.
Do you have the exact dates that the Bibles were seized and burned in Afghanistan?
where are the riots and the fatwas?? where are the Congressional hearings??
Not to worry. We’ll print more.
I was a Navy Chaplain for nearly twenty years active and reserve, and I thought that I was to the point that nothing would shock me; however, burning Bibles is something that I never expected. What we are seeing has not only affected the chaplaincy, but it is throughout the military. The military is run by civilians that have no military experience, and PC is more important than protecting the troops or nation. The military is used for political purposes, primary social engineering by Socialists.
One mans evangelizing is another’s proselytizing.
Sorry but whether or not I disagree with the military burning the bibles,we are not conquerors nor are we occupiers. If the law in Afghanistan says we cannot proselytize and they consider handing out christian bibles proselytizing then it is our duty to respect that.
Alcohol, pork products and Bibles in bulk - all prohibited if sending troop packages to the Middle East. It was always my understanding that if you broke the prohibition, you could get the receiver in trouble and the items would be destroyed.
So this Christian evangelical organization was using the US military as their distribution point?
Why didn’t they go to Afganistan and hand them out themselves instead of using soldiers and possibly putting them in danger from local islamist nutjobs?
They probably thought it was too dangerous to put their own safety in danger.
The one thing that can actually free Afghans from Islamic and cultural tyranny is being denied them by their liberators.
..."by their fruits ye shall know them"...and this article's "fruit" is a lie about evangelizing. Not good fruit where I come from. The author should be ashamed.
There is no "off-duty" time downrange.
