I wish that I had some words of comfort for you.
One of our boys is an active duty Naval Officer. My husband lies in a National cemetery.
Prayers for the remaining family members and all the base personnel.

TT, this is such sad news to hear. My heart goes out to his new widow, who has lost so much today. May our Lord bring comfort to her soul. I pray the other wives at Fallon are able to help her cope with this tragedy.
Memorial Day is going to be different now for awhile...

It is amazing when it is right there in your 'family' and you know the people personally. Thank you all for the concern and prayers.
What cracks me up is when he came up to me at the last department head meeting and sort of grabbed my arm to ask me a question, my reaction was to put my arm around him in return, and I basically ended up grabbing his butt!
(I'm taller, and was trying to avoid the uncomfortable short guy clench, but screwed that up somehow and ended up fondling his flight suit. Sheesh!)
We had a damned good laugh over that and I saved myself saying something about maintainers being "hands on" and requiring the tactile feel of the problem.
He said pilots always require a firm debrief, so he burned me. Dammit.
