Powell was new to most of us during the Gulf War and he prudently kept his opinions to himself. He presented as the brains behind the 100 hour advance. The political climate was very different then as well, and one could cheer Powell's alleged leadership role without wondering where he stood on abortion, for example.

We all live and learn.

Now that Colin Powell is ‘the titular head of the Republican party’ I’ll be interested in what he has to say about the strategy the Republicans should pursue to regain power.

Yes, I agree with that.

I believe we screwed up, up front in the Gulf War. I believe we promised other regional leaders we wouldn’t remove Hussein.

That was a big mistake if we did. I can’t think of any other reason not to remove him, unless Bush Sr. thought it would leave too much of a vacuum.

Still, we left some internal groups to waft in the wind once we left, and Hussein took a heavy tool on them.

I don’t like that one bit.

Well, as you state, live and learn. Hopefully we do. ;-)

Take care.

Powell is a complete fraud in claiming to be any sort of Republican. There is no way to reconcile supporting the most far left Democrat candidate ever against a RINO Republican nominee and any notion of being a Republican. And nothing but an in-the-tank for the Dems media would even join in this pretense and give him air time to discuss his disingenuous and fraudulent charade.

Powell, you supported Obama for one reason and one reason only; because of his skin color, and everybody knows it including the MSM whores who give you air time to carry on your ridiculous braying and posturing.

Anyone seen a poll that Americans want more government? Anywhere? Our country was not founded on government ruling the people. Colin Powell is now a strategy of the democratic party. His son must be totally embarrased and ashamed.

Lazy, don’t want to work, chip on their shoulders, want free entitlements, everybody owes me, welfare lifer recepients do not apply.

(I do not mean those who need a leg up because of circumstances and need welfare for a short while. Just those who feed off of others like fish in pond scum. )

Now here is a really smart liberal replying on the times with media lies and not one fact.

You mean the party that let New Orleans drown because it didn’t believe in government involvement? Or the party that voted to have Terri’s feeding tube re-inserted? Or the party that thinks it can tell you with whom you can and can not form a family? Or the party that believed so much in “free enterprise” so they could give no-bid-contracts to their friends? And the party that lowered taxes when going to war, in the proces giving healthinsurance, creditcard and oil companies free rein to hike their prices and premiums so the taxdollars went straight from your pockets to their coffers, ran up deficits after deficits after deficits during the good years, and still have the audacity to claim they are “fiscal responsible”?

That party?

You forgot to mention in your list that he is vehemently anti-gun. I once knew someone who was his driver him while in the military. He asked him about his feelings on the second amendment. Powell said that only the military should have guns, that civilian populations had no business being armed. Even America’s civilian population!

I’ve been disgusted with him ever since.

He’s been a baby-killing quota queen from day one.

If he’d been white, he’d have topped out at Lt. Col.

Don’t think Hillary would accept a nomination to the SC at this point. She can afford to be patient, since 0 will probably have another 2 appointments by 2012 (to replace Ginsburg and Stevens). If, at that time, it looks like 0 has, by some miracle, kept his worshippers on his side on his communist takeover of America, Hill might accept. But if, by then, 0’s toast, then no dice — especially if the Republicans still haven’t gotten their act together.

What’s this insanity about ‘wanting to pay more taxes’ that Powell is promoting? I want less taxation and more efficient government, not more taxation and less efficient government which is what we’re getting now.

Really, nobody I know wants Powell back in power in the GOP.

He is just a Rat mole.

The people braying about his ill treatment at the hands of the conservatives are just other Rat moles in the GOP.

There's a lot of them, keeping us down.

Powell is panicking and on the Sunday talking head shows because he knows everyone is getting hip to all the Rats infiltrating the GOP, of which he is the King Rat.

That BS in Boston about how "a new GOP is about to emerge, one that favors smaller government", well, that is just classic Soviet disinformation.

Rats and RINOs out of the GOP. It is starting to happen thanks to Rush, Cheney, and Rove. They are spreading D-Con around for Powell and the other Rats in the GOP to eat. Bon appetit!
