Mimi Beardsley Alford, a retired New York church administrator who had an affair with John F. Kennedy while she was an intern in the White House, is breaking a silence of more than 40 years to tell her story in a memoir to be published by Random House.
Ms. Alford’s secret was initially divulged six years ago when a biography of Kennedy was published with portions from a 1964 oral history that described the president’s 18-month sexual affair with a young intern named Mimi Beardsley. The Daily News tracked her down and discovered that she was Marion Fahnestock, who was divorced, working for the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and living in Manhattan. At the time, she gave a short statement confirming that she was “involved in a sexual relationship” with Kennedy from June 1962 to November 1963.
Ms. Alford, 66, who in the years since the disclosure had married Richard Alford, a former sports marketing executive, has not spoken about her affair since the statement. Before that, she had not even told her parents or her children. Now she is working on a memoir, to be titled “Once Upon a Secret,” about the consequences of hiding such an explosive past for so long.

At the age of 19 she was one of a harem of young girls hired by the press office principally to be at the president's disposal. She was flown around the country on air force planes so that she was on hand for JFK on his travels.She was even spotted crouching in his limousine during the president's 1962 summit with Harold Macmillan in the Bahamas, where the two leaders discussed British use of the Polaris nuclear missile.

The press aide, Barbara Gamarekian, described life in JFK's White House to a researcher in 1964, but referred to the intern only as Mimi, and asked for the section about her to be kept secret.
She said Mimi had gone to the same exclusive girls' college as Jacqueline Kennedy and was editor of the college paper when she came to White House in 1961 to write a profile of the first lady. Mrs Kennedy was too busy to see her, but "apparently the president did meet her on this visit", Mrs Gamarekian said. "He had more time than Mrs Kennedy."
On the president's instructions, the White House press office hired Ms Beardsley despite her evident lack of qualifications. "Mimi had no skills. She couldn't type," Mrs Gamarekian said. "She could answer the phone and she could handle messages and things but she was not really a great asset to us."
Nevertheless, the 19-year old ingenue was one of a group of girls that was invited to pool parties and went on presidential trips. "We all went on trips one time or another, but Mimi, who obviously couldn't perform any function at all, made all the trips," Mrs Gamarekian said.
What is it that infects the RAT presidents when it comes to using and abusing interns? When will we read that Hussein has the same problem? Does anyone know how many female interns are now awaiting their turn at fame and fortune, later publishing their “memoires” of their “exciting experiences” at the WH? Both JFK and WJC had priapus non-interruptus while in the Oval Office and should be remembered that way—as pure scoundrels.

According to sources I have read or talked to, Kennedy slept with at least a couple of different women every day. He had a bad case of satyriasis.
So, we could have quite a few of these memoirs if they all decided to open up about it. In fact, it’s rather surprising that no one has done this before.

Miss Porter’s School is not a college. It is an exclusive college preparatory school for girls. In other words a high school (although private and primarily for rich and upper middle class young women living the east coast trying to get into the “best” east coast colleges”.
At 19, she was. Monica was a late 20 when her affair with Clinton began.
Does she still have the blue dress? We need DNA proof.
