Glenn knew this wasn't going to be pretty -- but Glenn's interview on The View was even worse than anticipated, mostly because of the childish accusations (which they wasted an entire segment of TV on) that Glenn 'lied' about his chance encounter with Barbara and Whoopi on an Amtrak train down to the Correspondents dinner in Washington DC.
Glenn Beck on The View, Part I Glenn Beck on The View, Part II
Walters: "What are your real convictions?"
Beck: "I am on the quintessential chick show and you are making fun of me for crying."
Beck: "I have no problem crying..in saying the tough things... I believe in God... I believe in George Washington, Thomas Jeffersom, James Madison....these guys were genius.
Joy: Sarah Palin?"...
Joy: "Do you believe in her (Palin)?
Beck: "I would not put her in that...I am not sure about her." "She has not been tainted by a party."
Joy: "Do you think she think she thinks that Africa is a continent or a country?"
Beck" "Dunno I haven't asked her."
Beck: "I think Joe Biden is Ah..incredibly..Ah.. loose lipped". "I am amazed...That's kind of a bad trait."
Joy: "You (Beck Re: Amtrak train scenariio) are incredibly loose lipped". "Look at the trouble you got into with your loose lips."
Beck: "So should I be Vice President of the United States?" "No."
Barbara whispers in a theatrical alto voice: "Glenn, I think all of us believe deeply in this country and most of us believe in God." "I just think it is interesting to know what your true convictions are (laughter) except for the fact.. you know.. you believe in this country..I haven't learned (more laughter) that much from (inaudible)."
Sounds to me like Glenn really dropped the ball on this one, especially with him letting them get by with the Palin cracks!
Why would anyone watch them?
Agreed with the above two comments.
Wow she should simply have asked him WHAT KIND OF TREE he is (once she really did ask that question).
Or maybe Beck should have asked her, "Does sleeping with a married black politician make you an activist, Barbara...?"
...Beck stepped in sh!t, but he was wrong, lying about the meeting on the AM train. After that, to their credit, Goldberg and Walters backed off the issue...
...I like Beck, but, He fooked it up...
It’s NOT a ‘chick show’...it’s a HAG show.
bitc- fest.
How can anyone let these old bats beat up on them like bullies on the playground? Geez, conservatives, grow a pair! It’s not like you are being challenged by a group of Einsteins...
Same thing Rush says all the time, “Your career is taking off, and the producers call, building this whole rapport —they flatter the heck out of you, you go on, and then it’s a whole ambush, you have one purpose, and that is TO BE A TARGET...”
Well, we all knew it of course, but this means that he is really, really taking off. And they feel they have to try and assasinate him.
I truly believe that Glen means well, he is a patriot, a good man and has been doing great things for our country, but he was a fool for going on that trash program. If he’s embarrassed, he should be.
Joy apparently didn't know, or chose to ignore, the news that the "Africa gaffe" was a hoax and confirmed by The New York Times.
These silly women should be easy to derail. Honestly, do they think they’re smarter than Sarah Palin? And how tacky is it to quizz someone else about her...Question: “Do you think she thinks Africa is a country or a continent?” Response: “Do you think obama thinks there are 57 states?” What’s so hard about that?
Which would’ve made a great comeback to the ‘Amtrak train’ shot.
So they accused Glenn of lying? Wow.
Glenn: Never take on leftists when you’re sick...you need every ounce of strength you can muster.
Why did he even subject himself to a bunch of clueless witless harpies? Why give them relevance? They already break their arms patting themselves on the back. Why make them think they matter?
Glenn is a good guy, but he was stupid to go on a show with those cackling hens. What the hell was he thinking. No one can get an word in edgewise over there, and Barbara Walters and Joy Behar make me physically ill
Rush is right, and that he recognises what they’re up to and won’t be seduced speaks well for him.
marron: "I respect her a great deal. She's proven herself to be a talented and able governor, and she has more moral courage than almost anyone in any room she's in. There is certainly no one in this room that can hold a candle to her."
Joy: "Do you think she think she thinks that Africa is a continent or a country?"
marron: "We've just elected the least accomplished president in our history. I don't know if you've noticed that."
