A new polling analysis from Gallup finds that the Republican Party has lost support among nearly every major demographic subgroup, from college graduates to married people to those making under $30,000 a year.

In 2001, 47 percent of college grads leaned Republican. Today, just 37 percent do. Support among married people has slid from 51 percent to 46 percent. Just 28 percent of those making less than $30,000 lean Republican, down 9 points in the past eight years.

What this doesn’t explain are the many who no longer call themselves Republican because they feel the Republican Party has become too liberal.

Remember folks - “hope” is now a state of denial....on the part of both the right and the left.

I’ll also point out that there are plenty of regular church going black Americans who oppose the norming of homosexuality and abortion. They may just find a home in the GOP. If only they stood on principle after realizing that Socialism isn’t going to help them.

I used to identify myself as a Republican, but now I explictly disavow membership in the party. I now self-identify as a Conservative.

Registered independent here. Always have, always will. It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes of most newscasts to see the R demonizing. The issues don’t matter. This is propaganda people.

Here's some news for you pollsters.

I am a college graduate.

I am married.

AND....

I do not support the Republican Party.

Because they are Democrat/Socialist Lite.

Ergo...

No money, no support, and the only votes you can count on is if the other candidates are worse than you.

Kind of like saying, "I'll take the bright shiny turd" whenever I vote.

Good point. We have people leaving the GOP because they are conservatives and the party is not. That doesn’t mean they won’t vote for conservative candidates.

Wow...I’m an immigrant (citizen since January 20th, 2006), college graduate, Hispanic minority from Nicaragua (past and current communist country), not really a church goer but spiritual, married w/child...I meet all of those categories except, fortunately because of this great country, the less than 30,000 dollars per year. I am more conservative than ever, how could we be losing people? Given the awful policies being followed by this administration, if you can call it that, we should be gaining people. Something is wrong with those questions is all I have to say.

That’s exactly it. The media and the party elite prefer to interpret this as a large swing to the democrats.

Along a similar vein, libs painted conservatives/Republicans as monolithically supporting President Bush, even when his approval was in the low 20’s. When I explained to my (very) liberal sister that you can’t get that low without losing a good portion of your own party, she just gave me a quizzical look. The media and the party thought it was opposition to the war, when, in fact, it was mostly because he became so liberal in his second term...

Perhaps. But the party wants to parrot these positions to appeal to a wider audience....

IMO...The Slip is only with the evil in the world..GOD said in the LAST DAYS evil would be in control of the world, they will try and destroy the Blessings GOD poured out on the people, and for awhile it will happen, but as Sam Cooke said..

Change going to come, that is the arrival of the King of Kings and LORDS of LORDS and this craziness in the world will finally be put to an end....Those in charge right now will have a rude awakening, that they cannot do one thing to stop...

Even so Come Soon Lord Jesus!
