Senate has voted to block transfer of Gitmo prisoners to U.S.A.
Yep! And most idiot liberals probably think the Republicans still run Congress so it's a two-for-one deal.
I think they are letting this be blocked because all who vote for this are political toast.
Thanks.
I understand (maybe) why Fat Drunk Ted and Sheets Byrd didn’t vote (they’re quite ill) but WTF is up with Rockefeller?
The nays are unsurprising.
Rockefeller had knee surgery April 2, and has missed every roll call vote since then.
OK ... valid excuse. Sort of.
Both Senators from WV are too elderly and frail to represent their constituents.
But they’re ‘rats, and Byrdie is the King of Pork ... so the good people of WV keep sending those idiots back to the Senate. Rockefeller just got reelected. The bastard.

I just read here this morning our Sen Difi seemed open to putting them here in California.
yeaaaaaaaaaaaa...that's the ticket...shezzzzzzzzzz...
here we've got between 300K and 400K illegals incarcerated in America NOW and RINOld is trying to release tens of thousands of prisoners in CA because the state can't afford to incarcerate them and Dufus Feinstein “thinks” ...”heck, bring the terrorists here?”
If brains were dynamite, Feinstein couldn't blow her nose!!!
“Actually, I see it as a black eye for Obambi. He cant close Gitmo now, and hes going to really take a beating from the lefties. This was a vote of no confidence on the matter IMO.”
No he won’t. The left is going to praise him for his convictions, the media will say how courageous he was for despite people calling for Gitmo’s closure, Obama stood up for what he believed in.
And then this will all go away, as will the waterboarding and torture stuff.
And we will all sit here scratching our heads and say, people are idiots.
Agreed. Pass the popcorn, this is going to get good.
Bingo! 0bama had no intention in letting these people in the US. It gives him cover for the leftwing loons who he promised he would do this, and it allows the ever increasingly unpopular congress a chance to seem ‘right’.
no you are wrong. 0bama doesn’t care as long as he can go to these lunatics and said he tried, he’s off the hook.
Have you notice how little energy he has spent on this issue compared with the ‘stimulus’ and ‘budget’ ?
Please don’t get hoodwinkled.
Obama came into office with the mindset that everything the Bush Admininstration did on national security had to be wrong. Beginning, of course, with Gitmo. He is now getting a reality check, at least on that issue. The problem is that he isn’t going to get a reality check on other key issues (such as interrogations) until it shows up in the form of a terrorist attack that we missed because we lacked the hard intelligence information to connect all the dots.
Well, that could be true for some. I grant you that. There’s still the rabid die-hard forum participant Democrat, who will loathe Obama for it. Those folks are already convinced he’s a closet Conservative.
Perdogg, Obama is already being accused of being a closet Conservative on the liberal BBs. I agree that some folks will exhonerate him gladly, but there will be many who won’t IMO.
One of my friends, who has unfortunately become a rabid lefty (I suspect brain damage), excuses this by saying Obama inherited the results of bad policy. I would love to be able to tell him that there are detainees captured and held in Gitmo since Odumbo took office. Anyone know if that is the case or where I could find out?
“Anyone know if that is the case or where I could find out?”
Don’t know and I seriously doubt you could find out even “if” you knew someone who is stationed at GITMO....
And I thought Boxer was supposed to the dumb one.
