Hard quake shakes
Do you mean the Long Beach quake of 1933?
My Dad lived through that one.
There are quite a few faults in the area.
They crisscross the South Bay, Palos Verdes, etc.
One used to go right under my old house.
That could very well be a warning shock...

Note to self to check on earthquake insurance rates. Seems that I recall a very large deductible last time I checked, but would be better than total devastation, I guess. Anybody have any experience collecting on those policies during past quakes?
That is definitely the longest one in the area.
I’m thinking it might have been one of those that are west of the N-I fault. Like the PV fault, or Redondo... or?
I was in Fullerton last week. Ate at Revolucion Grill on Harbor Blvd. (And no, I didn’t cause the quake).
Channel 9 was just interviewing someone near Redondo Beach I think...
FYI.... Dogs are now barking at nothing.
Screw the insurance companies. They are as corrupt as the banksters.
Channel 9 is talking to Shane...in Long Beach where her dogs cam running in and jumped on her on the couch,....she picked them up and ran outsie screaming...reporting pictures knocked off the wall...
I’d die right there from these two landing on me....

At 8:40 PM Pacific Daylight Time on May 17, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 4.8 occurred 100 miles/161 Km northwest of San Diego, California.
The magnitude is such that a tsunami WILL NOT be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.
The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey or the appropriate regional seismic network.
I am just north of you a bit in Maywood. Have a couple of earthquake virgins visiting.
Got a chance to chat about earthquake tectonics, a rarity for me.
wow thats cool that you are close
lol I am still shaking it was rough quickly grabbed my niece and ran
You hope...
Channel 9 have someone on who was in a movie theater in Redondo Beach watching Star Trek when it hit...disrupted the movie projecter ...caused some damage...theater was evacuated.
Lazy cats, more like it!
I just looked at the list of responses at the USGS site.
El Segundo, Manhattan, and Redondo all had some high feedback ratings.
