Chips, dips and ammo clips(Wisconsin Open Carry)

A LaCrosse County man is hosting a picnic which invites people to openly carry guns. Several weeks ago the state Attorney General JB Van Hollen released a legal opinion solidifying Wisconsinites right be openly armed. However organizer Hubert Hoffman says he planned the event prior to the AG's memo. He cites past statements by the state supreme court chief justice and a previous attorney general saying Wisconsin has long had an open carry right.

Hoffman says those without guns are encouraged to come as well, especially those who might be a little apprehensive about seeing armed civilians. He emphasizes those who practice open carry are "not a threat."

"We are simply exercising a right, just like you would be exercising a right to vote or go to church," explains Hoffman.

The Onalaska resident stocked enough food for up to 300 people. He initially would've been happy with 30 people showing up but with all the attention he's getting, he's expecting to hit the 300 mark. Hoffman will also be taking donations so his cognitively disabled son can attend Wisconsin Badger camp.

The picnic will be held Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm at Marvin Gardens Park in Onalaska.

Good work by Hubert Hoffman. Glad he was able to get out the information that Wisconsin has always had legal open carry, it has just been suppressed by corrupt politicians under the cover of law.

And thus we are witnessing the rising up of America to defend itself against the tyranny that calls itself our Federal Government.

How about "Hotdogs, beans, and ammo MAGAZINES"

I just get irritated when news-people use that word incorrectly. I am by NO MEANS a firearm expert, but isn't the venerable M1 Garand one of the only common firearms that use "clips"?

Just wondered

Magazines go into the guns, clips load ammunition into the magazine.

perhaps the half moon clips used in .45ACP revolvers.
also ammo is clipped in charging clips to facilitate loading the magazines. I also am irritated by the misuse of clips.

Freepers have been having a tendency of calling certain things by the wrong terminology even when they have been corrected over and over. I don’t know what their purpose is.

Clips
.45 ACP
.45 Long Colt
.45 Short Colt
.44 M
.050 caliber

Just to name a few. I suppose I should enjoy the entertainment factor.

You forgot to mention the use of the term “bullets” when referring to cartridges.

“.050 caliber”

Does that one use a clip? (Or perhaps a tweezers?) ;)
