Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.
According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.
The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.
Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor, said Biden revealed the location while filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip

Infuriating! All we heard during the campaign was what a dumb pin up doll Sarah Palin was and the audacity she had to think she was qualified for the veep posistion. Yet we are stuck with this boob.

It’s well know that there is a bunker under the White House, but it wasn’t made clear where the Vice President was taken. Logic would dictate that the VP would be removed from the greater DC area during a serious incident.
If you look at the protocols used during 9/11, President Bush was removed to former SAC bases in Louisiana and Nebraska before returning to DC over military objections. It wouldn’t surprise me to find that the Naval Observatory Bunker was just one level of “undisclosed location.”
Any continuation of government protocol would spread leadership out over several thousands of miles.
The bigger issue here is the obvious lack of concern on the part of this administration. They don’t believe that there is any real military threat to our nation. They seem to think that people will understand our good intentions and everything will be OK. The world isn’t full of pink ponies and lollypops.
Heck no, and I don’t know anyone who would.
If the bunker was being constructed in 2002, I can assure you Cheney was not there on September 11, 2001.
That's what a lot of people on this thread seem to be missing. Biden can't be trusted to keep his mouth shut.
Someone with that little discretion should not be in a position of that much power or knowing that much classified information.
