Memes and analysis for May 17, 2009
No real analysis this week, except to observe that none of the major Democrats want to be anywhere near these shows the week for fear of being asked about Nazi Pelosi.
I fell asleep in my chair this afternoon so Im just now finishing up. I had YAEO (yet another eye operation) Monday of last week and Im just a bit burned out.
I expect full throated defense of old Nancy with indignant denials and all sorts of they lied too shouted comments. In reality I dont think the majority of the Dims will be sorry to see her fall from her high porch. Shes not exactly well loved.

Liz Chaney and Katarina Van de Huevel will be a catfight worth watching.

If Kaine and Steele are on together shoulder to shoulder as McAuliffe and Gillespie used to be during the Clinton years I will be watching for Michael Steele’s ability to give actual rebuttal to democrat talking points.
If they are not in the studio together, I will know that nbc is shielding Kaine.

An eyeopening exchange between Father Pavone and Father McBrien on FNS. McBrien professes to be pro-life, but serves as apologist to the “appropriateness” of O’Bummer’s speaking at ND. Pavone kicks ecumenical azz while McBrien states “abortion rates fell under clinton but rose under reagan and Bush” and then says, “but this isn’t a political issue”.
Like Hell it isn’t...

“Just” cataract surgery, Monday two weeks ago now, but the corneal transplant in that eye didn’t go so well 3 years ago and that’s causing problems now. It usually takes about a week for corneal swelling to go away after cataract surgery. As of 10 days after this surgery he says I’m about 50% of the way there. I now go back in two weeks and we’ll check again.
The really bad part for me is that my surgeon is now talking about having to do another transplant on that eye in the next year or two. Oh joy!
