Here is the video of Fr. Norm Weslin's arrest by University of Notre Dame police. He was carrying a cross and singing a hymn in honor of the mother of Jesus Christ ---"Our Lady" -- "Notre Dame."
What evil deed did they think he was going to do if they didn't arrest him: launch a devastatng, full-scale Rosary barrage?

I beg to disagree.
- The blood libel against Pius XII has long been laid to rest, as Israeli historians (e.g. Pinchas Lepide) have uncovered the extensive (and successful) efforts made by Pius XII to utilize Catholic networks to save literally hundreds of thousands of Jews. Pretty good overview here.
- There's no evidence at all that the present Holy Father is sleeping through the Obama threat, let alone collaborating. The head of the Apostolic Signatura, roughly analogous to Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Abp. Raymond Burke, has made it perfectly clear that the Vatican considers Obama a menace to the Gospel of Life (covered here),and the Vatican State Dept has reportedly blocked the nomination of 2 or 3 different proposed U.S. Ambassadors to the Vatican because the Obama Administration insultingly proposed the names of "Catholic" pro-abort stooges (Caroline Kennedy and Doug Kmiec were the names I'd heard mentioned.).
And the ball is still in play.
I, personally, find thing looking hopeful than they have in my whole lifetime. More dangerous; but more out in the open, and therefore more hopeful.

Wish the alumni who are distraught about this horror of honoring President Partial Birth Abortion himself, could view this list of the ND board... ONLY CATHOLICS should be on this board. Period.

I call DANGER and DISGRACE. Danger to our freedom of speech, religion and assembly, and disgrace on Notre Dame and the ObamaGestapo who perpetrated this outrage.

I believe you are thinking of Fr. Richard McBrien, some time head of what passes for a theology department at Notre Dame (or Northwest Indiana Humanist University as my bishop has called it). McBrien, originally incardinated in the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut, was the actual author of Mario Cuomo's speech which was delivered at ND to explain how supporting abortion is an allegedly Catholic thing to do. McBrien is a diocesan priest, either of Hartford or of Fort Wayne-South Bend. He isn't getting any younger and the window of opportunity to defrock him, excommunicate him and, ummmm, allow the rest of his ecclesiastical sentence to be carried out by the TTGC may close if Church authorities don't act soon.
We could make it a two stake ceremony by involving Jenkins as well or three stakes by including the superior of the Holy Cross Fathers or four by including former San Francisco (where else?) Archbishop John Quinn who is the one and only "Catholic" bishop rising to the defense of Jenkins and of the Illinois Antichrist's appearance at ND. Or four thousand by including..... Well, you get the picture.
As to the Jesuits (who do not run Notre Dame and never have), they are certainly no longer Catholic but they were still Catholic when they educated me a couple of centuries ago or so it seems).

It’s on tv too and youtube upgraded the flash player. If you don’t have Acrobat 10, it won’t work. The cops will do something stupider tomorrow. I’ll watch that one. I think the canine units may show up tomorrow to show a police presence which is no longer to protect and to serve. They are largely to intimidate. The terrorists are winning at this point imo. Look at what our nation has become.

This is, I know, a stupid question. Why would they arrest peaceful demonstrators? Don’t we have the right to protest, as long as it is non-violent? Or is it automatically trespass if you’re doing something at what I assume is a private university that the university doesn’t like?

If you lost it when others joined in as Father sang, you’ll love the third verse:
***We pray for our Mother,
the Church upon earth,
And bless, Holy Mary,
the land of our birth.
Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria! Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria!***

I sent it to a few pro-life Catholics that I know. And then I decided to send it to my list, whether they like it or not, describing it as “The Culture of Life confronts the Culture of Death at Notre Dame.”
My eyes were tearing up all through it. I don’t know what they will make of it, or whether they will watch through the whole thing, but this does seem to be a defining moment.

I do not think that God will be mocked, either. Now that I know that powers that be at Notre Dame Board are not all Catholics and that many have prior associations with obamma, I am less surprised at Father Jenkin's creepy determination to honor President Partial Birth Abortion Advocate.
Sad.

Several of those hits are mine :-(. I sent the link out as well.
The background music kind of added to it, normally I don't like Christian rock, but they gave a credit near the end so I knew what to look for and went in search of the .mp3, found it at amazon, dl'ed it in the complete form, got it free because I had a promotional discount from something else.
The music is by Saviour Machine, "The End of the Age".
But that's just incidental. It took a lot of courage for him to do that. At least the police were being gentle with him, but I was worried how he would fare in jail. He wouldn't have been arrested if he'd stayed on the sidewalk, so it's a shame that they aren't wanted on the campus.
I thought the man at the end had some very fitting words to say.
I've been finding a lot of nice music in association with my youtube viewing. One I particularly like is Siobhan Oliver who lives in Ireland. I saved a file with her beautiful voice, "As I Kneel Before You", guess it's used as a wedding song. She has several other samples on her website. It's not on youtube. I don't think she is "our" Siobhan who used to post here. Wonder what happened to her as I know she was banned at least once.
There are now 1,734 hits, and it was just uploaded yesterday as I searched for anything new on ND by upload time. There were no posts yet last night, so I think it might go viral, at least for awhile.

God bless him. In jail he’ll no doubt meet a better class of people than on the podium today.

Tami, I dont recall posting anything regarding ND's charter. I would be intersting in knowing if they are obligated to welcome all Catholic.
I sure hope someone in the know forwards the video of the priest being arrested to the Holy See.

The dear old gentle priest may well have significant arthiritis in his shoulders. I can only imagine the pain he might have been in.
