Governor Palin Signs House and Senate Bills
May 15, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin today signed two bills into law that will provide a grace period for charter schools experiencing decreased enrollment and authorize the state to enroll in the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.
It is so important Alaskas parents have opportunities to choose what's best for their childrens education, Governor Palin said. I appreciate the hard work of all the legislators who spearheaded these bills from introduction to final passage.
Senate Bill 57, sponsored by Senator Joe Thomas, provides a one-year grace period for charter schools and alternative schools experiencing a decline in enrollment that would make them ineligible for separate school status. The legislation also lowers the separate-school threshold for alternative schools from 200 to 175.

More good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Solidwood!
Yes!!!
The news just keeps getting better!
Gov. Palin's eldest daughter got her high school diploma Thursday night in Wasilla. She tells People magazine she hopes to go to a local college and is considering a career in real estate.
Nice!
Nice pics. That jacket looks great on her.
Sarah gets more beautiful by the day.
Seems Gov. Palin has hired another lawyer, Randy Evans, who leaves his post as the General Counsel for the Georgia GOP. From the AJC politics blog:
Savannah Notes from this mornings session of the state GOP convention:Who knows what this means but it's interesting. Evans supposedly has very close ties to Newt Gingrich. This morning at breakfast, state GOP chairman Sue Everhart formally announced the end of Randy Evanstenure as the partys legal counsel.
Evans was leaving her for Sarah Palin, she said.
Which was an interesting statement. Palin just announced a book contract, if you recall. And Evans has negotiated many, many contracts for books by prominent Republicans, including Newt Gingrich and J.C. Watts, who just finished addressing the convention. Evans remains legal counsel for both.
During a spare moment, we were able to ask Evans if he had negotiated Palins book deal. He declined to answer but acknowledged he is now doing legal work for Palin. Im not going to say what Im doing, he said. I represent a lot of people.
Good job!
