Not at all. What is hard to believe is anyone would be surprised.
My first contact with (EMR)Electronic Medical Records was last week. In my second visit to a Cardiologist after two days of stress screening, heart scanning and a few other tests I went for feed back. The appointment was @10:15AM I arrived@ 10:00. The office receptionist advised me at sign-in that the office was now on (EMR)an that things were slower than usual. At 10:25,I was usher into an examining room and told to wait the “Doctor would see me soon”. At 11:00 I stepped to the nurses station in the hallway and asked where was the doctor. I was advised “the Doctor was running behind, but would see me soon”. Finally @ 11:45 a “ARNP” came to my room and critiqued me on my test results.
When she finished I asked why things were so outlandishly slow and I had been here so long, she said the new (EMR)procedures had built-in delays(prescribed times for specific functions), These would not allow them to work faster(designated specific times). I left the Doctor’s office @12:20 PM.
I thought I was supposed to be critiqued by the Cardiologist but was never given a reason why I got it by a “ARNP”. I am waiting now for a call from their office for further explanation.
