The U.S. Attorneys Office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.
In an e-mail message sent May 4, Paul Harvey, an information-technology official for the Boston office, wrote that security specialists with the U.S. Attorneys Office at the Department of Justice asked them to reformat/reimage two computers because the user visited the drudgereport.com site.
Please avoid the Drudgereport website from the [United States Attorneys Office] computers, Harvey wrote.
Harvey said that if employees had a work-related reason to visit the site, access could be provided off the government network.
Asked why the conservative-leaning news aggregator and President Barack Obama critic was flagged by Internet security officials, Tracy Schmaler, a Department of Justice spokeswoman, said it was because a malicious code was found contained in a Web ad on Drudge.
Schmaler also said the request to stay off Drudge wasnt politically motivated and said it was sent only to the office in Massachusetts. She also said other popular sites were later found to have potential viruses, including ESPN.com.

I wonder if DU is on that “list?” If anything, for four letter words...
Duplicate!!!!!
To some people, the truth is a virus.
Sounds like BS to me. This sounds more like DemoRats wanting to block people from reading a news site that will show news that isn’t written with DemoFascist spin in effect.
bttt
This is practically an admission that the original directive WAS politically motivated.
That may be so, but Drudge does have a problem, in terms of causing users to get infected, and this is from other FReepers reporting the problem...
Sounds like a rumor Drudge may have started to boost traffic.
MA
a liberal homo hell hole which shouts tolerance and yet is the most intolerant to those with a different view, with a religion unless Muslim etc
course they have homo sham marriage but fireworks are not allowed to be sold in the state(bizarre)
strict on gambling but they believe homosexuality should be taught in schools
only recently they allowed by law native Americans to enter the city limits
it’s a very very bizarre state, even more bizarre they do not allow beer or wine to be sold at gas stations and stop selling at a certain time
Well, it’s not politically motivated that other FReepers have reported infections from Drudge’s website...
And the reason given is because it contains virus’ like “espn.com”.
You said — Duplicate!!!!!

LOL!! The other FReeper “original thread”....

No, what it’s saying is that there are viruses at other popular websites, too — like espn.com (which are probably coming from these ads that we keep getting hammered with, especially on Drudge since he forces a reload about every 30 seconds or so... LOL...)
And other FReepers have reported being infected from Drudge, too...
“....due to potential viruses on the site.”
Of course they would see the truth as a virus.
bump to the top
Ya beat me to it...
I call BS.
You said about liquor — “... and stop selling at a certain time”
—
Heck, in Texas they stop selling beer at midnight in grocery stores... LOL...
I guess that must be something weird in some states, eh?
In a word they are Reprobate.
