"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which
must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

— President Ronald W. Reagan, 1911-2004

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to
the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no
more of those candidates who are pledged to the same
goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all."

— President Ronald W. Reagan, 1911-2004

Of course the Rats want a ‘moderate’ as a choice for the GOP. Look how well it worked for the GOP in ‘08!

John McCain, who called the governor a potentially promising contender in 2012

And how is that not the kiss of death?

He signed an initiative that would set a regional cap-and-trade effort to reduce global warming.

These people really want to put America permanently out of business.

I can’t understand why this “moderate” garbage keeps coming up. The Socialist Democrats swung to the far left of Josef Stalin and kicked the GOP’s ass last November. I think the GOP should be looking for a position maybe to the right of Ghengis Khan. Extremism seems to be “in” these days.

The popular, 49-year-old Huntsman

He's not as popular as he was his first term being the gov. Right after he was sworn in for his 2nd term, he betrayed conservatives in this state. I don't remember know what piece of legislation he supported (I'm tired & need to go to bed); but it had to do with gays. It wasn't a position held by conservatives & people were pissed. Hopefully their memories aren't short. He has no place in national politics, and I won't vote for him again if he runs for gov for a 3rd term.

“McCain and 0bama’s operatives...” Is there a difference? Shame on Utah for hiring a RINO. Get rid of him before he can infect the rest of the Party. Again, the idiotic gay marriage issue pops up. Slap it back down where it belongs. Global warming is a scam, and Republicans have no business participating in it. The scam is going to hurt Americans.

The fundamental assumption of the two-party system is that the parties offer meaningful alternative policies.

If people like Huntsman and McVain want a “moderate’ party. they should go form one.

“Moderate is a base-stealing word for liberal Republicans.” — Bill Buckley.

Interesting, he is Mormon and has an 84% job approval rating and the Mormon church just lightened up their stance on alcohol. There is a lot going on there.

"He's won praise from party elders, including 2008 GOP presidential nominee John McCain, who called the governor a potentially promising contender in 2012."

Absolute kiss of death.

If this is the best the Repubs can do ... maybe it is time for a 3rd Party. I’ve had enough of RINO’s.

I refuse to hold my nose and pull the lever just because there is an R after the persons name. If Dimo’s rule for the next 50 years - so be it. Enough is enough.

G.W. Bush screwed much of the Republican Party into the ground. If the rest of the Party wants to follow him ... Bon Voyage.

He’s John McCain without the larger then life background and War Hero Status. With this guy at the top of a ticket we will be looking at Alabama and Texas being battleground states. Think 1964.

The only thing he would be good for would be to help soften a real Conservative Candidate’s image to the General Electorate and Indies as their Veep.

And we should declare that Hitler and Stalin are the philosophical progenitors of the democrat party and praise them. All democrat campaign posters should have either the swastika or hammer and sickle stamp in the corner.
