In that order...
Bug List ping
Ruh Roh.
Why do we or Canadians let Muslims work in fields like this. It’s suicide!
Ohhhh man.
Of course, It all makes sense! Got his own white lab coat, got his own microscope, brings his own Ebola samples, he's ready to go work!
Same reason we do.
Political correctness.
Ten years ago I would have would have thought this statement was over sensitive - today, spot on!
Islam = death. The sooner everyone realizes that the better chance this country has for survival. (If it turns out this guy wasn’t a muzzie, it still stands)
The article did not say if this is true.
You are 100% correct. Islam = Death.
Nobody carries pathogens like this without some serious bad intent involved. Normal SOP would be to have the shipment carried in secure packages by a carrier that could contain the pathogen if the unexpected should happen. Ebola? Carrying Ebola in vials without Level V protection would be like carrying white phosphorous barehanded. This smacks...and to think this is probably the only one that was caught. Bets are there is going to be an outbreak somewhere.
Muslim 38.6%, Christian 32.8%, indigenous 11.9%, none 16.7% (2008 est)
note: the majority of foreigners (migratory workers) are Muslim (70%) and Christian (20%)
Thwarted terror bio-attack...thank god...
Damn! Another radical Quaker caught in the act.
Ping ... (Thanks, nully!)
Officials have stated this was not hazardous, but are holding the man on a smuggling charge.
Please. I know you’re a bright enough person that expressing your feeling without the vulgarities would be no great problem.
I wonder what this fellow’s job at the NIH would be? Lab security?

SNIPPET: “The vials, according to court documents, were in a glove, wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in a plastic bag. They were found in the trunk of the scientist’s car.
Konan Michel Yao, 42, is in U.S. custody charged with smuggling.
Dr. Frank Plummer, head of the Winnipeg lab, said Yao did not have security clearance to work with high-level pathogens such as the Ebola virus. But he was allowed to work on an Ebola vaccine project in the facility’s special pathogens unit.”

CBC News
SNIPPET: “A former researcher at the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg is facing charges in the United States after allegedly trying to smuggle genetic material from the Ebola virus across the Manitoba-North Dakota border.
U.S. authorities allege Konan Michel Yao had 22 vials of the substance in the trunk of his car when he tried to cross the border on May 5. He is charged with smuggling merchandise, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 US.
U.S. customs officers allegedly found the vials wrapped in aluminum foil inside a glove and packaged in a plastic bag, along with electrical wires.
In his affidavit, the 42-year-old researcher said he was hired by the Public Health Agency of Canada to work as a PhD fellow at the Winnipeg facility. Yao told officers he was working on a vaccine for the Ebola virus and HIV.
On Jan. 21, his last day at the lab, he said he stole 22 vials, which he described as research vectors, according to the affidavit.”
