Republicans Need More Crist and Less Limbaugh, Cheney and Palin
US News and World Report ^ | 5/13/09 | Bonnie Erbe

The GOP needs more Charlie Crists, fewer Rush Limbaughs, Dick Cheneys and Sarah Palins as it seeks, phoenix-like, to rise from the funeral pyre.

Crist has agreed to do the party a major favor and run for the Senate, instead of for reelection as Florida governor. As CNN reports:

The Senator from Texas and chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee on Tuesday reeled in a big catch as popular Republican Florida Gov. Charlie Crist announced he'll forgo a re-election bid and instead run for the seat being vacated by retiring Republican Sen. Mel Martinez.

Crist is a moderate, a tree-hugger (by Republican standards, anyway) and supports civil rights, unlike high-profile members of the Bush administration (Cheney et. al.) who seem to revel in trashing them. From Time:

Crist is a peppy populist who has bucked his party on the environment, civil rights and the stimulus bill.

Go, Charlie! You're just what the party needs to start reopening the doors of the big tent.

Could Crist’s, and others, gay preference be part of the GOP’s swing to the left.

Read about her on Wikipedia. She’s a Clinton supporter who’s telling the Republicans how to govern..

"Why do they care so much about what we do..it’s NONE of their damn business what we do..more Crist, boy oh boy, looks like the Dems found their boy wonder. "

They care because they want the Republican Party to look and behave just like the DemonRAT Party. The Drive_By "News" Media is engaged in a massive propaganda blitz in an attempt to adjust the attitudes and worldviews of conservative Republicans to the likes of the Democrats. It's blatant pyschological and political warfare being waged against the American public by the Democrat's lapdog media prostitutes.

As if you'd walk right in if those door did reopen.

These people are full of crap; unfortunately, though, too many in the GOP "powers-that-be" listen to this pile of manure and we get candidates like McCain who got absolutely SPANKED in the last election. And it's going to happen again because I don't see Michael Steele closing the primaries to prevent these leftists scum from picking GOP candidates that can be easily beaten in the general. I'm not seeing a lot of leadership from him on anything.

Crist Denies Trysts
GOP frontrunner: I have never had sex with a man

By Bob Norman
Published on October 24, 2006

A young rising star in the Republican Party has boasted to witnesses of his sexual relationship with Charlie Crist, the frontrunner in the Florida governor’s race who has repeatedly denied that he is gay.

The GOP staffer, 21-year-old Jason Wetherington, told friends at separate social functions in August that he had sex with Crist, according to two credible and independent sources who heard Wetherington make the claim first-hand.

Wetherington, who recently worked as a field director for U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris and currently works for state representative Ellyn Bodganoff’s reelection campaign, also named a man whom he said is Crist’s long-term partner, a convicted thief named Bruce Carlton Jordan who also recently worked for Harris in her long-shot Senate bid.

Hmmm lets see here... McCain (the moderate) was tanking until he chose Palin (A real Conservative) as a running mate and I give her credit for making it as close of a race as it was... The main reason we did not win that race was because the economy tanked just at the right time, just as McCain/Palin's numbers were climbing, which made me wonder how much of a man made crisis (read Soros among others) it really was... There really was no reason the market tanked as bad as it did, just like there is no real reason the market is coming back now... I believe the lefties are really worried about Rush, he has too many good ideas and they know how influential he really is.

I’m not so concerned with his gayness as I am with his liberalism. They often go hand in hand though, like Foley and a pageboy.

Yeah, Bonnie Erbé's advice to the GOP... is akin to what Hitler counseled the Jews: "Arbeit macht frei"

The Left saw how Palin energized and captivated the conservative base and it terrified them.

Obviously, this advice is from the same assholes who pushed to have McCain represent the GOP in 2008.

Crist would simply add another wimpy ass pansy to the Senate.
There are far too many already.

McCain could have won if he had done two very important things.

First, he should have condemned any and all attempts at the Bush/Pelosi/Paulson TARP bailout. Instead, he borrowed his wife’s highschool cheerleading uniform.

2nd, he should have exposed Obama’s marxist past. Instead, he said there was nothing to fear from an Obama presidency.

I’m starting to believe the “moderate”-conservative dialog within the Republican party will have little effect on future elections.
It now appears to me that team Øbama and his Rat brigade in congress are so hopelessly amateurish and inept that many voters in the next election cycle will toss many of them on their asses on the simple premise that they basically destroyed the world’s greatest economy.
This does not even factor in their simpleminded approach to foreign policy which seems to be that anything we do that makes the rest of the world and the UN like us is ok, even if it weakens our defense and is opposed by the majority of Americans.

We Real Republicans need not listen to the babbling Left Wing Moonbats about how to rise from the Ashes! Lets remember they picked the Most Far Left Socialist/Communist Candidate who won by 6 percentage oints, hardly a Landslide, against the Most Far Left Old, Delipadated RINO Candidate The Republicans could Dredge up from the Quagmire called the OLD Timers Senate Club! and e still just about Won inspite of fighting Hundreds of Millions of Illegal Campaign Contributions to ZERO HUSSEIN from the Likes of Hugo Chavez, Saddam Hussein’s Tuition Reimbursement Programs and Quaddaffi’s Gold Reserves along with the Palestinian Telephone Banks! Considering all of that, A Good Conservative candidate will Obliterate the demorats in 2012!

Jeb would have been a much better candidate than Crist. Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll run for Nelson’s seat.

“Could Crist’s, and others, gay preference be part of the GOP’s swing to the left.”

Which would mean the GOP swings both ways? Ah heck, now I’m all confused...:)

“I’m not so concerned with his gayness as I am with his liberalism.”

It is a catch-22.

A gay can not win as a conservative. The Left will vilify him.

If the GOP becomes “inclusive” the gay point is moot. Conservatives are screwed.
