The 67-29 roll call by which the Senate on Tuesday approved an amendment that would allow people to carry loaded guns in national parks and wildlife refuges. On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote to support the amendment and a "no" vote was a vote against it.

Voting "yes" were 27 Democrats, 39 Republicans and 1 independent.

Voting "no" were 27 Democrats, 1 Republican and 1 independent.

This goes along nicely with my assertion around here lately regarding Pelosi and Reid’s permanent shelfing of a 1994 version of the AWB.

Paranoia is reigning with most conservatives regarding another AWB but the democrats in Congress and Obama himself would never allow even a hearing on another bill banning assault weapons and have all stated as much multiple times.

Their political memory is very sharp and they will not repeat Clinton’s error of 1994, at least not in Obama’s first term. If God forbid he has a second, then lookout.

I spoke to the Army Corp of Engineers at Lake Lanier and although they would not be directly affected by the law the spokesperson stated that they would probably voluntarily comply to avoid confusion.

This is a big deal since all parking at the marina’s around Lake Lanier are leased ACE land you cannot bring a weapon with you(even locking it in the car) without being in violation of federal law. This is regardless of whether you have a Georgia concealment permit.

Forget bringing it onto the boat.....

However if a law enforcement officer asked I would be compelled to disclose....why risk it?

Of course Ga. law also says that if you are fishing or going fishing you are allowed to carry openly.

To the best of my knowledge, OR still allows concealed carry without a permit if one is going to, or coming from legally engaging in hunting or fishing.
