Some Birds Were Created to Boogie by Jeffrey Tomkins, Ph.D.*
Snowball is a sulfur-crested cockatoo. Hes also a YouTube sensation, as this bird dances by bobbing his head and lifting his feet to a musical beat.
In addition to the Internet community, Snowballs performance has caught the interest of scientists...

Ping!
This is not news.
Come on.. birds that evolved to dance.. of course it is.. Somehow it is Bush’s fault. :->
Bogus.
The guys who could dance always increased their chance of mating. The writer has obviously never been to a bar.
LOL.. In all seriousness, it seems that recognizing patterns is something the brain does naturally and would be a key component for survival, an interesting evolutionary trait. Music is a mathematical pattern that we’ve evolved to enjoy because recognizing the pattern is beneficial.
LOL!
Back to politics, what do you think about the new proposed $2 cigarette tax to pay for healthcare?
I saw someone post that they pay $50 bucks a pack for cigs.. You might as well just transition to super premium cigars for that price.
The poor hardest hit.
Obama promised to tax the rich and give tax cuts to the poor and middle class yet his $2 a pack proposal for smokers will hurt the lower class the most.
People dancing always made me laugh. Years ago, we'd go to a bar, and really laugh our a$$es off at those dancing. It was really a hoot watching their native like rituals...Ya turn off the drums, and all the natives stop shaking an jumping around...We laughed so hard our sides hurt, as we drank and watched the natives dance to the drums.
Hey, I told y’all I had too much to drink, you don’t need to keep bringing that up.
Yeah, the drunk natives were the best.
BTW, did you read the whole article? You seem to have missed or glossed over the following:
"None of the apes (nonhuman primates) have these capabilities, including humankinds supposedly closest evolutionary relative, the chimpanzee. Since this trait does not show up in apes, it poses a big problem for the human evolutionary model.[3] Creatures with BPS abilities are not in the direct human evolutionary lineage.[3, 4] Also, BPS is a trait not found in the direct bird or elephant evolutionary trees either. Its like the BPS trait appeared suddenly and separately in humans, birds, and elephants―three completely different created kinds. The odds of this happening within an evolutionary model framework are slim to none."
Do you understand why the author is correct when he says that the odds of BPS happening "suddenly and separately" is slim to none?
I thought I could dance until my wife showed me a video of me dancing.
I now sit quietly and tap my foot.
==This is not news.
Sure it is. If the article was pushing darwood’s braindead creation myth I would agree with you. But this article is about Creation.
Displays of health... healthy members of a species are more likely to breed healthy children so mates are chosen based on physical attributes that reflect on the health of the mate.
Just get up there and wave your hands around and act cool. You’ll do fine.
None of which has anything to do with immediate survival. And on what basis do you conclude that the best dancers are going to be the healthiest?
Health doesn't have anything to do with immediate survival? Working limbs, agility, lack of sickness and disease, being well nourished? Not sure where you are coming from, but it seems to reflect all the attributes that would be involved in both immediate survival and separating traits that are passed along.
