They are ready for a catastrophe of a global scale every minute of their lives and are prepared to meet the challenge wherever they are – at home, in the office, or just walking about.

In St. Petersburg alone, there are more than 10,000 getting ready for the End of Days right now, informs Petersburg Business.

Russian survivalists call this speculative catastrophe the SHTF-day. Leaving aside atomic bomb shelters that were built everywhere in the USSR some twenty years ago, 'survivance' as a trend became popular in Russia in the early 2000s, when Russian scientist Valentin Ponomarenko published his ‘Problem 2033.'

It’s not unusual for the Russians to be paranoid. However, since many Americans are stocking up for a SHTF scenario one might want to take notice.

Dunno about “end of days” but I am ready for more than the “day or two” problems.

Maybe it’s not the “end of days”, but it may be flirting with the “end of the USA”.

Now the federal government wants to tax sugar to pay for national health care. Guess I’m going to stock up on that now!

Max von Sydow had the very best line about the old USSR in “Citizen x”: It’s not whether you are paranoid. The question is whether you are paranoid enough.

Paranoia does not equal having a stash/root cellar/supplies/a hedge for a rainy day, even if it lasts 40 days and 40 nights. Or longer.

Please add me to your ping list. We have been stocking our basement for months. Most of it we have ordered from “Pleasant Hill Grain”. Very reliable company.

Hopefully, we will never need it, but it is there if we do.

I had a book from the 1880s, that told how to
make everything needed for survival.
It told how to find raw material and make most
everyday items.
I am trying to remember to whom I loaned it.
Even the real name of the book.

I suppose it all depends on how bad things get before the end and how long it will take to reach that end.

I’m retired (early).

Stock Up . Some laugh at that statement.

Fish alittle when you retire,it does you good.

And I’m proud for ya’.

It’s just like my Dad said though, you never realy retire.
