has unveiled plans to build a $100 million battery manufacturing plant in eastern New York state for a newly formed battery business.
The announcement was made at GE’s (NSYE: GE) Global Research Center near Albany. GE is partnering with the state of New York in building the $100 million in the plant that will be located in a yet-undetermined site in the Albany region. It will create 350 jobs—being labeled "green-collar" jobs—and thousands more in the supply chain, GE said.

Yeah, batteries are “green” all right....however, we’ll ignore the incredibly toxic chemicals that are used to manufacture the batteries...
Looks like Chrysler or Government Motors is going to announce in a year or so that they’ll do a lot of electric cars.
So what exactly will make this plant “green”?
Carbon credits?
Pay someone else to deal with waste?

GE isn’t only partnering with the New York state government- it’s partnering with the Obama White House.
The whole fascist model of government and business is happening before our eyes.
But I seriously doubt that the Bamster has the ability to make Amtrak or anyone else’s trains run on time.

I doubt the 10’s of million of Americans out of work or severly under employed right now give a rats ass if the job is green,or blue,or white, as long as the paycheck doesn’t bounce.........
