RUSH: I have a question for you, folks. What motivates Dick Cheney? Dick Cheney was on Face the Nation yesterday. We have some audio sound bites here. Before playing the sound bites, I want to pose some thoughts to you. Dick Cheney has all the millions he needs. He doesn't need money. He has no future political ambitions. He coulda run in 2000; he coulda run in 2008; he doesn't want to run for elective office anymore. What motivates him? He's not hot for interns. He's not a torture freak. What motivates Dick Cheney? He also knows that he is toxic to the Drive-By Media. He knows that the Obama administration and the Drive-By Media despise him. He could sail away into retirement, go hunting and fishing out in Wyoming, wherever he wants, what motivates Dick Cheney to continue to speak out? What is it that you think motivates Dick Cheney? Let's go to the audio sound bites, and we'll start here with this question from Bob Schieffer: "You said, for example, the Obama administration has made this country less safe. That's a very serious charge. Why have you taken that approach?"

I think Vice President Cheney is a patriot. And I believe he is as nervous as the rest of us, at the notion of what this character has in mind for this country.

There’s no marching band to greet what Cheney is doing. Although there should be. He has health issues, he knows he won’t live to be a hundred. He is speaking out now, like the canary in the mine, that is being ignored.

He, and (by extension) his wife Lynne, are warning that our republic is in danger.

"He's not hot for interns"

The first few times he said that, I thought he was talking about clinton. Then I started wondering why he kept saying it and HOW he was saying it, like he was emphasizing it. I wonder if something is about to come out later this week.

Cheny would have made a great President. And the lefty-lib-demholes and MSMwhores recognized it immediately. That’s why they set out to demonize him the day after he took office, to guarantee he was unelectable in 2008. Although Cheny said from the get-go he wasn’t interested in running in ‘08, the demholes and MSMwhores assumed he was lying (like their crowd routinely does in such a situation) and launched a pre-emptive character assassination. Just like they’re doing to Palin now.

Cheney is the rare politician who knows what needs to be done, and doesn’t give a damn what you think about him doing it.

He acts first, and doesn’t ask for forgiveness for providing the security those who criticize him live in.

Dick Cheney has the balls to piss on Obama’s corn flakes. He will remind people of the dangers, hopefully before it is too late.

I love Cheney. He's daring the DemonRATs to put up or shut up on the torture B.S.. And he's probably the one Republican with the intelligence and the stones to smack them down if they are foolish enough to pursue their idiotic inquisitions. My only regret is that even if conservatives regain control of Congress they won't have the will to take all of the DemonRATs to the woodshed for all of the lies, theft and corruption that they are engaged in. Playing nice and letting them get away with it is how we got into this “Obamanation” in the first place.

I’m with ya.

If, by some miracle, the GOP has any power at all via the 2010 elections, I want them to emulate the Democrats.

Like them or not, they are brilliant and committed. The operate “balls to the wall” with their agenda, while the Republicans worried about being “loved and moderate.” Nothing has me irritated more.

When they had everything, the GOP should have ended the Nixon era law giving the ACLU proceeds from lawsuits.

They should have forced a change in the tax code, eliminating the income tax in favor of a fair or flat tax.

They should have eliminated the corporate tax, to attract investment to our shores.

I have more, but you know where I’m going with this....

The next GOP majority had better have a PLAN.

*did I already mention that the Cavs swept the Hawks tonight?”

I remember according to the news media when they both took office, Bush was a moron puppet and Cheney was pulling his strings.

Cheney is a true american! He doesn’t care what the media says about him. He is responding to the new adminstration new policy’s that will not protect this country. Period!

“I think Vice President Cheney is a patriot. And I believe he is as nervous as the rest of us, at the notion of what this character has in mind for this country.”

I agree with you all the way.

I was thinking just this morning that Cheney can lead us out of this. He has always put country first. Through all his connections, he can get his hands on proof that Obama is a not an American citizen.

Obama should be real scared of him.

“When they had everything, the GOP should have ended the Nixon era law giving the ACLU proceeds from lawsuits.”

The two biggest sins of the Republicans are “they allow the DemonRATS to set the agenda, even when the DemonRATs are in the minority”, and Republicans swept into power and then started acting just like DemonRATs in every aspect except the reason we put them there for.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I don’t listen to Rush that often — even though I agree with him 98% of the time — and yesterday’s show reminded me why. While I appreciated his presentation of Cheney’s remarks, I almost turned off the radio a number of times when he insisted on incessantly using the “what-motivates-Cheney” refrain.

Exactly. I started to think he was high or something. He's usually very subtle about things but I think the point was lost on the idiotic way he kept repeating himself.

Of all the things we’ve seen so far, nothing has disappointed me more than this....no attention paid to his status.

I might be the last of the innocents. I assumed the Supreme Court would find it important enough to decide. And I was wrong. It was a huge letdown for me. It continues to be...I’m dumbfounded to know our courts won’t address the basic issue of whether or not our president should be President.

To this point, I have little faith in our justice system. Perhaps our CIA is sufficiently annoyed with him that his “documents” will appear.

What motivates Dick Cheney - a man who has everything?

This is a question that begs no answer...from the 'reason-capable'; as Rush well knows. It does challenge, of course, the altruistically-challenged and too often reason-impaired class of people we know - euphemistically - as Progressives.

Dick Cheney is a great American who has served his Country; and at great personal risk, continues to. His is a wake-up call to those who otherwise, choose to ignore the grim realities now being fashioned for our Country by Obama, Inc.

Of course, Rush too; as another 'Great American'is being singled out/targeted; for the same message; and for the same reason.

Here's the Biggie!

When Dick Cheney passes by Chuck Norris, Chuck stands and salutes the former Vice President.

How's that for respect?

I too am thankful for courage and frankness of Dick Cheney!

He is more solid and stable now than any of the apologists we have recently elected!
