A pro-life Congressman is pressing further with his request for President Barack Obama to withdraw his nomination of Dawn Johnsen. She is a former NARAL legal director Obama appointed to head the Office of Legal Counsel, which provides legal advice to the president.
Johnsen has drawn strong opposition not only for her ties to the pro-abortion group but for filing a legal paper on its behalf with the Supreme Court equating pregnancy with slavery.
Rep. Steve King, an Iowa Republican, was part of a group of 63 lawmakers to previously ask Obama to withdraw the nomination and he sent his own letter today to further urge him to scrap Johnsen.
Declaring that Dawn Johnsen is so against an unborn childs right-to-live that she has labeled mothers-to-be fetal containers, King says she is not the kind of person who should be providing any president with key legal advice.
Nominating Dawn Johnsen to head the Office of Legal Counsel is an insult to pro-life Americans who are willing to work with President Obama to find common ground, King writes.
Her personal pro-abortion agenda, previous disparaging comments about pro-life Americans and past criticism of Congress ban on partial-birth abortion are evidence that she is not interested in finding common ground with those who oppose her narrow philosophy, he added.
Meanwhile, an unrelated issue could affect Johnsen's nomination.
The pressure for Obama to withdraw her nomination may grow now that Obama has released more Office of Legal Counsel memos detailing CIA interrogation tactics used during the Bush administration.
Senate Republicans have threatened to filibuster the nominations of Johnsen and Harold Hongju Koh, an abortion advocate Obama nominated to become the legal counsel for the State Department, if President Obama released the memos.

This nominee is such a moonbat, she compared pro-life protesters to the Ku Klux Klan and claims that any restriction on abortion (even restricting taxpayer funding of it) violates the Constitution’s 13th. Amendment prohibiting slavery.
I wonder if Ms. Johnson knows anything about the history of NARAL.
Wasted effort,Mr Congressman.Every single individual that Hussein nominates to the bench will pro...pro...PRO abortion.
Where to start?
Are there any sane female judges?
It is somewhat ironic. The founding fathers did not let women vote. The Left accuses them of being misogynistic. But the downfall of Western Civilization is happening because of nutbag, activist, female judges and women who can't be bothered to have enough children to keep their own kind from going extinct.
And we are threatened with destruction by barbaric societies, that don't let women vote.
Hmmm.
Thank you Clinton Fatigued for the ping.

Now obambi is saying pregnancy and slavery are the same. Well now we know why obambi thinks killing black babies before they are born is a good thing. Since pregnancy is slavery, killing the unborn baby and stopping the pregnancy ....well ..... its the same as freedom...... in the obambi brain pattern.
I’m happy to say that Arlen Specter still opposes her in spite of his party switch and another Democratic Senator (Ben Nelson of Nebraska) has announced his opposition. George Voinovich (RINO-Ohio) says her nomination is “in trouble” and I think he’ll also vote against her.
Some interesting info from Wikipedia:
Newly redesignated Democratic Senator Arlen Specter stated in his April 28, 2009 news conference that, despite his switch, he will not be supporting this nomination.
Johnsen and her husband, community development finance executive John Mark Hamilton, have two children. Hamilton unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana's 8th congressional district in 2000, but was defeated in the primary. Johnsen's brother-in-law is United States District Judge David Hamilton.
Pregnancy is like slavery? I never knew that Africans laid on their backs spread their legs and said “make me your slave.”
