I have a real hard time believing this was done by an American soldier, even if they were under great stress. I could even understand shooting yourself, but to shoot other soldiers just for being around, is quite unbelievable. There has to be a big piece of this story missing.
it happens. I saw it happen stateside firsthand in the mid 90’s. guy just lost his mother, thought his squad leader was picking on him, then all hell broke loose. he had a 12 gauge he bought off-post stashed in his wall locker. he shot two (one died, the other had buckshot in his jaw and arm and suffered nerve damage) then he shot himself in the latrine.
I appreciate the support your show to those in uniform but sometimes there are bad apples in the bunch. Just the way life is.
It's not just soldiers... An American sailor has shot fellow crewmen/women during this war. There have been a number of incidents, though it seems that only the Hasan Akbar one sticks in anyone's mind.
