Paper: Former NC Gov. Easley took private flights

RALEIGH -- Former North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley took at least 25 flights on private jets during his final six years in office. He didn't pay for some of the flights while the value of other trips exceed state campaign contribution limits, a Raleigh newspaper reported

(rhetorical question) why is it that when its a democrat you have to read through the whole article until there is a vague reference to his party affiliation but when its a republican it is usually right in the headline?

Pretty piddly, among all the stuff he’s done, but whatever works if they can put him in jail.

I was listening to some guys on the radio while I was running some errands. To hear them tell it, they’re lucky to find the documentation to back this up. I’m sure he’s buried any other incriminating paperwork long ago.

Some of you non-NC resident folks may not be aware that ex-governor Easley has been the subject of a federal grand jury for the past 2-3 weeks.

I would love to see Gov. Easley in the dock for his corruption, but Beelzebub will have frostbite before NC Atty Gen. Cooper or any of the Obama administration lifts a finger against him.
