Out and About: Gay Politicians Being Outed (Film Outraging D.C. Officials)
Roll Call ^ | 5-08-2009 | By Emily Heil and Elizabeth Brotherton

Forget “State of Play” or even “Star Trek” — the hottest movie in Washington this weekend is bound to be “Outrage,” the documentary premiering Friday night that explores closeted gay public officials.

Opening at the Landmark E Street Cinema, the flick takes on the controversial subject of “outing” gay pols, and features plenty of Capitol Hill denizens sure to make it a must-watch for Beltway types.

And before it even reaches audiences, the film is already kicking up some dust: An interview Thursday on News Channel 8 with local blogger and film subject Mike Rogers and anchor Doug McElway practically ended in fisticuffs.

In the segment, McElway makes it clear that he opposes outing politicians, which prompts Rogers to accuse McElway of saying that “being gay is wrong.”

That doesn’t sit well with the anchor, who becomes so agitated he finally throws a threat Rogers’ way. “I’m about to do more than point my finger at you,” McElway says. “That’s not what I said. ... I’m about to take you outside and give you a punch across the face.”

That famous homosexual “tolerance” strikes again. Homosexuals are tolerant just like islam is the religion of peace.

Gays are going to self-destruct. Their militancy will eventually anger their Leftie Comrades.

Lefties don't get even. They destroy.

I still want to know when Barney Frank and other “out” politicians who support same sex marriage are going to quit engaging in unmarried sexual relations. When will they “settle down”?

Republicans are 90% of the target in this film. But he really goes after Craig, Crist, and a few other heavyweights.

Aren’t these the same “privacy advocates” who say that a person’s sexual life should be a private thing that stays in the bedroom?

Homosexuality is indicative of a sexually degenerate mind. Sorry, but anyone who is a sexual degenerate should not be placed in a position of responsibility for We The People. I don’t care if they’re “R” or “D”, they should be outed and rejected by the voters because they cannot be trusted to ultimately legislate for the good of their voters ... unless the majority of their voters are democrats because democrats wouldn’t know the difference.

My view is ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’. (according to the Bible it is a sin).
What makes it intolerant is when the gay activists don’t tolerate my views. Then comes the bullying from the ‘activists’ which escalates this past reasonable discussion.

You can be homo if you want, but you can’t expect the other homos to sit on it.

Well depending on how many republicans there are, that could be a large part of the problem with the Republican party.

They need to out the democrats too.

Haven’t seen the ‘film’ and probably never will.
BUt you can be sure the film outs more Republicans than
Democrats, since there are few Democrats who haven’t already outed themselves , and used it in the wink-and-a-nod way to get themselves elected in the first place.
But the Left has always been ‘its own worst enemy’ in this area. The farthest Right Fundamentalist Religious Bigot who ever lived could not have been a more effective “outer” of gays than Michelangelo Signorile,or this guy Rogers, who’s been at it for a long time/
These guys are but a hop, skip and jump away from the Westboro Baptist Church of Kansas, renowned for their apocalyptic hatred of gays, and just about anyone else, our military veterans included, who falls short of wanting the Matthew SHepherd treatment for all of them.
They simply don’t want or honor or respect a private life for anyone of any sexual persuasion. EVERYTHING becomes “politicized, and they think it HAS to be that way.
Remember how the Kerry-Edwards campaign couldn’t let Cheney’s daughter alone, considering her “fair game”, because their sick and twisted minds insists on invading everyone’s privacy? What is the ultimate objective here, if the “exposure” of Politicians is going to come down heavily ‘ON’ (actually ‘Against’) the Republican side?
To smear them? To suggest they should join the Left, where, presumably, you don’t have to ‘hide’ your sexual preferences, or to ruin their political futures? Or a combination of all three, or more????

No; these are ones who say that a person's sexual life should be a private thing that stays in the public restrooms.

I think the objective is to expose when politicians are pretending to be something they aren’t.

Too many politicians pretend to be conservative to get elected. Just like too many ineligible Marxist Kenyans pretend to be eligible mainstream politicans to get elected. If they are living a lie, then we want to know about it, so we can decide whether to vote them out of office.
