Actually, if this is a state level program, and doesn’t require anyone other than that state’s citizens to pay for it...
I really don’t have that much of a beef with it. Let ‘em bankrupt themselves.
The problem is, they’ll bankrupt their state and demand the rest of us bail them out for their folly.

Worked as a supervisor at the Texas Workforce Center after Katrina (my background was in employment counseling, although I had been in the hurricane myself). We were giving away laptop computers, loaded with software, with a free ISP! Also, we gave welfare recipients Target & Wal-Mart gift cards, Texaco gas cards or bus passes, FREE child care, Section 8 subsidized housing, cash every month, Food Stamps, clothes for “interviews”, bulk foods, etc., etc. I knew they’d get around to cars someday. Next will be free HUD/Bank foreclosure houses.

You mean I worked 2 jobs, 16 hours a day, bought my car 2nd hand, and these people get better cars than me FOR FREE!!!!!!My thoughts exactly.

You’re making way too much of this. these poor people use the cars to get voters to the polls during election day and make sure they vote the right way. Our democratic republic died last November, Americans just haven’t realized it yet.
