Yet our administration and media proclaim we are recovering on the stock market....everything back to normal by year’s end...no problems here [whistle whistle by the graveyard]. Anyone with any brains isn’t going to keep their money their, the ones that do, the ones that trade quickly on the stupidity of others are the only ones that will make out here.....my stock days are over as an investment option.

The government is buying, though not directly.

So, what does this mean? Some commenters said it was just a couple owners with big unloads. What is true?

The big bank stocks are being strung along with government funds. The people who buy them now figure (probably incorrectly) that the government will keep pumping money in but not take over. Tech stocks are up on stimulus types of money.

I doubt there’s much selling because there isn’t much buying either (low volume). A wimpy rally that will end soon.

The key to playing “chicken” is knowing when to flinch. Not yet - but we’re close.

Well, that’s the $64,000 question—isn’t it? Just have to wait to see how it plays out.

I can tell you this much from my own experience. I’m not sure my investment broker really has a clue about what’s happening. I spoke with him about a month ago and he was talking as though everything was just as it was pre-Onada. He even said he hadn’t heard that The Usurper was trying to get his hands on 401k accounts. I have heard The Usurper say it at least twice.

My wife and I are in a wait and see mode right now. My inclination is to toss this guy, but where exactly does one go?

That aside, I am wondering if The Marxist Onada’s house of cards is beginning to crumble sooner than I anticipated. I hope so, it will save the country much anguish.

Obama said something to the effect that the Democrats are the party of Wall Street. That’s the best explanation so far. I am pulling my meager 401K next week, my employer stopped matching, so now I need to protect what I have.

I am not in any way a market guru, but if things are not being manipulated big time by both the government and insiders then why?
1. Why is oil climing? With decreases in manufacturing output all over the world, gasoline use down, storage yards/tank farms so full of oil that it is being kept in ships at sea, refinery production scaled back...
2. Bank stocks climbing even though there are alomst daily annoucement of more and more money being needed to keep them afloat and almost weekly closing and seizures of banks.
3. Housing prices still pummeting, just today a bank bulldozed a partial constructed subdivision because it was worth the cost of completion.
4. The auto plants are going of hiatus and how many dealerships are getting ready to fold? How many jobs are being lost? How much money will not be circulated? What happens to States when the drought of the big time sales taxes from the sell of cars drys up even more?
5. What happens to the economy when Obama cuts defense spending in half. Killing a large American based industry?
6. What happens when the unemployment funds start running out and there are still no jobs? Just a few things to ponder.

Unemployment will run out for the biggest group around this
time next year with many just after the first of the year.
I think that things will get real ugly then. Average folks
driven to crime to feed the family kind of things. I hope
I’m wrong.
