My wife asked me why I’m opposed to gay marriage. I gave her a host of reasons surrounding the fact that marriage is a beneficial contract between society and the married couple. She was surprised that I gave no religious reasons. You can win this argument without getting into valid yet subjective religious issues.

I gave a short speech on that very subject at an Alan Keyes rally in '04. Both the local weekly and the local daily reported on the rally...guess what the one speech they didn't quote from was?
