I live in a development of 1-5 acres parcels well out of the city. In Nevada open carry is legal. I usually get home about 4:00 pm, get out of my SUV and put my carry weapon of the day in my back pocket and walk to the mailbox to get the mail. Often I am passed by the school bus. My street is the last one it goes on and there are three streets left in the area that the kids walk or ride with someone to the bus. Last Fall I was at the mailbox and a new wanta be SUV was picking kids up from the stop about 200 feet away. I had never seen this vehicle in the area so I noted the plate and of course they were Kalifornia. The “van” drove by me and I could see a woman whose face went to sheer horror when she went by me. She drove up to the top of the hill and started gesturing and looked like she was on the phone. I went about my business in my front yard puttering around. About 10 minutes later a Deputy Sheriff who I am familiar with pulls up and gets out of his crusier. He smiles and waves to me and says “oh I thought it was you.” About that time this woman comes tearing down the hill stops and gets out and start shouting that the Deputy needs to arrest me etc. Complete irrational babbble. The Deputy tried to explains to her that in Nevada I could walk around all day with a gun out and it was legal. The woman went crazy. The Deputy called his Supervisor who arrived and tried to reason with the woman. She went completely ape. So the Supervisor hooked her up and put her in the back of the first cruiser. Now at this point I am laughing my a$$ off and having a great time. So the “van” is full of three kids and they are all crying now. The Supervisor puts in a call to CPS to come and get the kids and calls a tow truck to haul the “van”. About that time here comes another SUV wanta be with Kalifornia plates and it is the husband. He jumps out and starts screaming at the Supervisor about what have they done to his wife etc. So he gets hooked up and thrown in the Supervisors car. After about 5 minutes the husband calms down and talks his way out of the cuffs. He tries to get his wife released and the Super says no. She actually pushed the Supervisor at one point and he is sticking to her going to the jail. Long, short my Realtor told me they moved back to Kalifornia after taking a $30,000 beating on their house they had owned for three months. Couldn't take the “wild West”. Made me smile

How to get a fair shake?

We are California natives and can't wait to get out of here. We have about three years to go. Need some suggestions on how to get a fair shake when we move in next door to you with our two big dogs, 8 rifles, 9 hand guns, and 20,000 rounds of ammunition. Oh, my wife makes a great lemon meringue pie, too. Thoughts?

GREAT story! Did this ever make into your local news? Would be interested in reading how your “local MSM” reported the story...

Nice story man!

I got a gun question for the Freepers... I was talking to my next door neighbor (an older woman in her 70s) yesterday... and she "happened" to mention that she has a 38...

I asked her a couple of questions about it because we share a common wall... and apparently, she hasn't fired it for several years. It is loaded because she is afraid of creeps.

And that is all fine and good... but I'm not too sure if it is a good idea to keep the gun loaded over the years and not test fire it or at least clean the gun out once in a while. So is my concerns valid and how do I broach this subject without offending her?

She is a good person... but dammit... she actually voted for OBAMA! believe it or not.

that’s one fine story. I only wish it were repeated for at least 50% of the hundreds of thousands of libs who’ve moved out of California these past ten-fifteen years, because it seems like these libs always wind up movin’ next door to a red state. In process turning formerly solid “red” states in to ugly stains of purple if not outright blue.

I swear, liberalism is like a virus. They kill the originating cell (real estate/taxes in LA, SF, PORT), but make a killing selling their homes and move towards a cheaper, better place. They leave for better pastures where Conservative values are family and Christ centered, where crime is minimal and the Law-Abiding Citizen can and does defend his family, where schools are rated highly and government is relatively smaller -— but they bring their poisonous attitudes/expectations and elitism with them, along with their voting habits. And government grows to accomodate their need to change the world according to their Rousseau-esque view of the way things oughtta be.

Then over the next 20 years, they slowly destroy their new home, and repeat the cycle anew.

They don’t realize that in essence, “they” are the problem.

What I haven’t figured out yet... is how in the hell to stop this virus.

JG

Now that is heart warming story..!!

Had a neighbor...that moved to the sticks here...and built a big house on 250 acres. Just so happened there entire spread was surrounded by a giant ranch...

She never really liked living here...but I think just bowed to her husbands wishes..and it's up for sale now.

Anyway....during her living here...she hit like 4 or 5 deer...driving the dirt road to and from her house. The crazy thing...is she wanted the giant ranch owners to pay for the damages to her car after she ran into the deer.!?!?!

She's still a nut-job...but not around here anymore.......
