The Senate dealt a blow tonight to Sen. Arlen Specter's hold on seniority in several key committees, a week after the Pennsylvanian's party switch placed Democrats on the precipice of a 60-seat majority.
In a unanimous voice vote, the Senate approved a resolution that added Specter to the Democratic side of the dais on the five committees on which he serves, an expected move that gives Democrats larger margins on key panels such as Judiciary and Appropriations.

They knew he came over only because he was dead politically with the Republican party for reelection, so they acted accordingly.

The Democrats owe him nothing since he was going to lose in the next GOP primary. They could cut him out of all committee aswsignments and he’d have nowhere to go.

The last RAT with a conscience was purged from the party about 10 years ago.Well, media reports said he did have an AB normal brain.

So, as the senior Senator from PA, Specter traded much of his power to help the citizens of his state all for self preservation.

Heres hoping he runs as an independent when he loses the Democrat primary next year.It will be obvious to him long before the primary that his name is sh*t in the 'rat party and that he has no support anywhere. He will use the Cancer excuse to "retire" rather than face humiliating defeat.

Sort of like real Republicans in the 2008 POTUS primaries were ambushed by the Straight Talk RINO Express when we were stuck with McCain instead of a real Republican.
Even RINO-lite with Mitt would have been preferable. At least Mitt has done a few good things for real Republicans. McCain just stabs us in the back.

Hey Arlen, how’s the view from under the bus??
To: eyedigress
There may be 300,000 Republicans who will switch parties to save Specter once again. People in PA love him.

Benedict Arlen. I foresee the demonrats telling sphincter that he is too old, sick and nobody likes him and running someone else in his place. $10 says it happens.

>>I predicted it last week — Specter was too stupid to see he’s now Obama’s b***ch. <<
Some talking head on CNN said today that Specter has gone from being the most unreliable Republican to being the most unreliable Democrat.
