The Senate dealt a blow tonight to Sen. Arlen Specter's hold on seniority in several key committees, a week after the Pennsylvanian's party switch placed Democrats on the precipice of a 60-seat majority.
In a unanimous voice vote, the Senate approved a resolution that added Specter to the Democratic side of the dais on the five committees on which he serves, an expected move that gives Democrats larger margins on key panels such as Judiciary and Appropriations.

Specter doesn’t and never cared about America! but We nly really learned that with the last pathetic gasp of his slimey character that We had previously refused to believe existed! Sestak and the RATS will grind him deep into the muddy oblivion Specter so well deserves:-(

If so lets hope that he chooses the Lieberman route and runs as an independent.
Running as an Indy he would split the DemonRat vote between him and the Rat nominee. I don't believe that many state Republicans would vote for him.
If the Rat vote is split the Republican candidate has an excellent chance of election, IMHO.
Yes, but the Democrats may have to vote in their own primaries to keep Specter from winning it.

At least Arnold was useful before he became a turncoat. SPector made a career of being a traitor and screwing the gullible fools in the GOP.

Specter was tolerated by the Republicans here in Pa. and we certainly never "loved" him. Now that he's a Rat that tolerance is gone.
Being the astute politician he is he was well aware of that fact, prompting him to switch parties.
He may get beat in the Rat primary prompting him to run as an independent. That IMHO would be the best thing that could happen as I stated in post# 111.
As I said last week, The Dems would do a bait and switch and get him to turn, then knife him in the back to get rid of him in time for next year. Even a kindergartner could see that coming, Arlen really must be completely thick.

Maybe Obama can get Specter on as a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER in Philadelphia.
No. the spineless Republicans will do something special for him. It’ll be a long time before the GOP returns to power. They are still listening instead of acting.
